Star N9599 Review

17:25
The Star N9599 is one of those low-medium budget Chinese phones that house a 720p display together with a quad-core mediatek processor (MTK6589). The phone has a surprisingly good camera, comparable if not slightly better than other "13.0MP cameras". Thanks to the lower resolution, the phone runs extremely smooth and most games will work on the phone. For its price, you are getting a rather good bargain. Xiaomi Mi3 (WCDMA) Review

20:56
We just reviewed the budget phone by Xiaomi. This time around we have their latest flagship phone the Mi3. The Mi3 comes in two different variants, one for the WCDMA network and the other for TD-SCDMA. This review covers the WCDMA version (slightly different in specifications). For the review and overlook of the MIUI OS, do refer to the Xiaomi Hongmi review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=2OwKSH3m21k#t=514 TLDW: MIUI is one of the better custom Android experience you can get. Great in both functionality and aesthetics. For the full written review: http://chinesetech.net/2014/03/21/xiaomi-mi3-wcdma-review/ Do subscribe to us for more made in China tech content! Display Resolutions - 720P vs 1080P vs etc

07:27
Phone and tablet manufacturers have been pushing for higher and higher resolutions for their displays. With 1440P (2560x1440) coming real soon, do we really need to have such high pixel density displays? In fact, does 1080P give us a better visual experience as compared to 720P? This video shows a comparison (not the best since it is through a camera recording) of a 720P display and 1080P display. Phones used (both 5.7" display): Star N9599 (720P) Vivo Xplay (1080P) Read full written article: http://chinesetech.net/2013/11/09/display-resolutions-720p-vs-1080p-vs-etc/ Visit us at: http://www.chinesetech.net Follow us: @chinesetechnet Subscribe to us for more of such content!

ZTE Nubia Z7 Max Unboxing and Overview

07:47
Finally gotten my hands on another Chinese phone giant's flagship device! The Nubia Z7 Max is one of the top tier phones offered by ZTE. It runs on their custom Android OS "Nubia OS". Full review to come in about a week's time! If you have any questions or things you want me to look into while reviewing, do leave a comment or PM me. The LeEco Le Max 2 has incredible specifications for the price that it is currently being sold at. All that said, does the real world performance properly illustrate the powerful paper specifications and amazing price? TLDR/W: The LeEco Le Max 2 is a great choice for those in the market for a medium budget phone. The camera, hardware performance and software are all fantastic and very value for money. Huawei Honor X1 (Mediapad X1) Review

31:57
The Huawei Honor X1 (also know as the Mediapad X1) is a 7.0" phablet (phone + tablet) that comes in a 3G or 3G/4G version. The review is based off my experience with the 3G model. The phablet form factor is a really weird one for me to review. I can see how it works out for some people but the size might not be that suitable for others especially for the usage as a phone. Watch or read the review to find out my full thoughts and experience with the device. TLDW: The phablet form factor is rather subjective and you may or may not like it. If you don't mind the size and would love to carry a device that caters to all your tablet and phone needs, the Honor X1 is definitely something you can consider. Skip towards the end for a review of the Emotion UI 2.0. Huawei Honor / Mediapad X1 Unboxing

09:05
The Honor X1 is a phablet that has two different names and two different models (name does not matter). There is a 3G only model and a 3G/4G model. The name differs depending on the region you are buying the device. International customers would most likely get the Mediapad X1 while people purchasing from China will have it as the Honor X1. No difference in hardware specifications. Full review in about a week's time! As always, if you have any questions that you would like me to answer in my review do leave a comment or message me.

Vivo Xplay X510W Review

43:11
Unboxing and Review of the Vivo Xplay The Vivo Xplay is a premium Chinese phone that boasts superior audio output quality as well as amazing gesture functions. The phone has a built in amp, converter and a DAC, giving you the best audio quality possible from a phone. The phone does cost quite a bit and that might put off some people especially when there isn't any international warranty available. Xiaomi Mi Band Review

08:20
The Mi Band is the first ever wearable gadget by Xiaomi. It is a simple fitness tracker that you can use with their complementary app to get records of your sleeping activity, walking/running distance and so on. Watch and read my take on the Mi Band and decide for yourself if you should purchase it! TLDR/W: It is so cheap even for the little things it does. Meizu MX4 Pro Review

28:49
The MX4 Pro is Meizu's update on its recently released flagship device. It has a slightly larger screen and more powerful hardware. It runs on Meizu's very own Flyme OS (based on Android 4.4.4) and even has a fingerprint sensor! Do watch the video to find out what I think about it. TLDR/W: The MX4 Pro has great hardware and software. That said, it is slightly expensive and I will recommend it only to people who wants a better mobile camera or audio quality (assuming you do not have your own external DACs and amps). ZTE Nubia Z11 Review

13:47
The ZTE Nubia Z11 is beautiful, well made and powerful. TLDR/W: The ZTE Nubia Z11 is a fantastic phone that looks gorgeous and packs amazing hardware as well. The curved display that provides the "bezel-less" front is certainly an eye-catcher. The only concern is with the slight problems with Google services and some syncing issues, otherwise, great value for money. Xiaomi is one of the largest Chinese phone makers at the moment. They are a premium Chinese phone manufacturer that produces some of the best phones available. Xiaomi Mi3 Unboxing & First Looks

06:45
Here is the unboxing and first look at the Xiaomi Mi3! The Mi3 Is the flagship phone by Xiaomi that features impressive hardware and their amazing custom Android OS MIUI. Full review will come sometime next week. As always, if you have any questions that you would like me to answer in my review do leave a comment or message me. NOTE: I realised, after recording and uploading, that many of the "facts" and info that I stated are pretty much inaccurate. For example there is NFC on the 16GB version and there isn't a 32GB variant. The video is recorded off my head as I simply wanted to unbox it together with you guys. The full review, when out, will have the accurate information and a better analysis of the phone.

Should you buy the phone? Watch or read the review to find out more! Xiaomi Redmi Note Review

19:50
The bigger brother of the Xiaomi Redmi is here! The Redmi Note is a larger and more powerful version of the Redmi. The Redmi series of phones is the "budget" line of phone of Xiaomi. That said, the hardware power you are getting with this phone is simply out of this world. Watch or read the review to find out what I think of the phone. TLDW: Need a bigger size budget phone? Definitely get the Redmi Note (if you can find stocks for it). Main problem, as with all other Xiaomi products, is availability. Otherwise the Redmi Note is one of the most value for money phone you can buy with money. The ZTE Nubia Z7 Max is one of the few higher end phones that supports not one but two LTE/4G SIM cards! OnePlus One Review

16:10
Sorry for the delay! The reason why the review took so long is because I had to check out different ROMs to get better clarification about certain issues I had with the phone as to whether they were due to software bugs. Other than that, here it is! TLDW/R: A phone with fantastic hardware and great support from developers out there. The official price makes it an even easier decision as not many phones out there in similar price range can compete with the sheer performance of the OnePlus One phone. That said, it can be difficult to get a hold of an invitation to purchase the phone. Buying from a reseller will incur a slight mark-up but even then, I still believe the phone is a strong contender for your money. Oppo Find 7A Review

27:23
The Find 7A is the flagship phone offering from Oppo (Find 7 is technically the more powerful one with the 2K screen and 3GB RAM but other than that pretty much the same phones). It does cost quite a bit but is it worthy of your money? TLDR/W: A great contender for people considering top tier phones. Performance is absolutely top notch and while camera quality isn't outstanding, the 4K video recording sure sets it apart from the rest. If your country does have a local distributor for Oppo phones, I would definitely recommend you putting the Find 7A in your list of phones to compare before buying. Onda V975W Review

22:52
Finally! The review for the tablet that I've unboxed a few months ago! The Onda V975W is a Windows based tablet that runs on an Intel Atom Z3735F. It doesn't cost much and it packs quite a punch. TLDW/R: Good value for money device for those looking to have a full fledge lightweight Windows device for work (and play). It is nice and extremely convenient to be able to run applications such as Microsoft Office (the full desktop environment version). It can even game smoothly especially on less graphically intensive games. ASUS Zenfone 5 Review

25:40
ASUS Zenfone series of phones boasts of great performance while maintaining a low price. The budget smartphone market is booming and everyone seems to want to have a slice of it. Today, we review the Zenfone 5. EDIT (250614): I have wrongly stated that only 1 SIM slot is 3G capable. Both SIM slots are 3G capable. That said, only one SIM's 3G can be active while the other will be running in 2G. You can configure the SIM cards and their functions in the settings. TLDW: The Zen UI is another custom Android software that I can definitely see people liking. The additional features and functions are pretty neat and useful.
