The sound and video were taken silmutaneously in each track (vocals, bass, slide guitar, harmonica) and this is why the sound is a bit rough. La vidéo et le son on été pris simultanément ce qui explique la qualité du son un peu "rustique". All the instruments played by Philippe Salmon (France) in this song : Vocals with my mic AKG 220 (designed in Austria & made in China) Acoustic guitar : Takamine EN60C Bass Guitar : EAGLE Electric guitar : Washburn HB35 Harmonica diatonic (Harp) - Hohner Cheap Blue egg maracas

This is a fun one to play, but trying to record it was a nightmare due to the challenging (for me) chords. I probably could have done with a little more practice, but once I started I just wanted to get 'er done. Note the look of determination in the final bar! I'm also quite hoarse, and deaf in one ear, but enough with the excuses! Thanks to all of you who have been badgering me (kindly) to post something new. I hope you like it.

A cover of Crippled Inside by John Lennon. Apologies for the poor quality of my laptop microphone, it couldn't seem to handle such enthusiastic guitar playing so it started clipping all over the place. "Crippled Inside" appears in Imagine, John Lennon's second album (1971). The album was written and recorded during a period of particularly bad feeling between Lennon and former band mate Paul McCartney, following the 'beatles' breakup the year before and McCartney winning his case in the High 'court to have their legal partnership dissolved. The song "Crippled Inside" refers to a lot of people who may seem "ok" on the outside but they are "handicapped" on the inside because they have so many issues and might be filled with so much hate/apathy/misery, etc. that they can't really live a "full" life. Sort of like the phrase, "Rocking horse people" from "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" where he's referring to people who never get anywhere (because they're riding rocking-horses as opposed to real ones). Lennon was going though a lot of personal issues during that period, including bouts with drugs and dealing with the crap that he and Yoko Ono were taking from people close to him as well as the public at large.

"Crippled Inside" is a song written and performed by John Lennon from his 1971 album Imagine. The song combines the bleak lyrical content of Lennon's prior solo recording, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, with the more upbeat musical arrangements typical to the rest of Imagine. The song was noticeably influenced by country music, becoming Lennon's own spin on country rock, which he dabbled in both as a Beatle and later in his solo career. The song also contains a reported dig at his former bandmate Paul McCartney in the line "You can live a lie until you die".

Crippled Inside written by John Lennon. Erick Bergman (guitar) CC Trubiak (vocal/kazoo). Flin Flon Manitoba, March 7, 2016. Ok so we got sneaky and threw in this Lennon solo tune so technically its not a Beatles song; however we went with the inspiration and figured we'd channel our inner John Lennons and do it anyways.

Lennon would later express his displeasure with the more commercial sound of the album, even going so far as to say that the title track was "an anti-religious, anti-nationalistic, anti-conventional, anti-capitalistic song, but because it's sugar-coated, it's accepted." The song is also noticeably influenced by country music, becoming Lennon's own spin on country rock, which he dabbled in both as a Beatle and later in his solo career.
