A RIVER ON FIRE! Gas explodes from Australian river near fracking site.

01:58
A RIVER ON FIRE! Gas explodes from Australian river near fracking site. I was shocked by force of the explosion when I tested whether gas boiling through the Condamine River, Qld was flammable. So much gas is bubbling through the river that it held a huge flame. There has been concern that fracking and extraction of coal seam gas could cause gas to migrate through the rock. Not only is it polluting the river and air, but methane is an extremely potent heat trapping gas. Fugitive emissions from the unconventional gas industry could be a major contributor to climate change and make gas as dirty as burning coal. Gas first started bubbling though the river shortly after the coal seam gas industry took off in the Chinchilla area. Since then the volume of gas bubbling through the river has massively increased and has spread along the river. You can see stakes in the river bank were the Queensland Government has marked each gas seep. You can also see pipework near the river where Origin Energy has installed for monitoring the gas bubbling through the river. Thanks to John Jenkyn for taking me up the river in his tinnie. He's a champion!

Bazooka: "The Anti-Tank Rocket M6" 1943 US Army Training Film; M1 & M1A1 Bazookas

Also shows how to jerry rig bazooka rockets as booby trap mines against enemy tanks. US Army Training Film TF18-1166 Originally a public domain film from the US National Archives, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and one-pass brightness-contrast-color correction & mild video noise reduction applied. The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and/or equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bazooka Wikipedia license: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ Bazooka is the common name for a man-portable recoilless antitank rocket launcher weapon, widely fielded by the United States Army. Also referred to as the "Stovepipe", the innovative bazooka was among the first generation of rocket-propelled anti-tank weapons used in infantry combat. Featuring a solid rocket motor for propulsion, it allowed for high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) warheads to be delivered against armored vehicles, machine gun nests, and fortified bunkers at ranges beyond that of a standard thrown grenade or mine. The bazooka also fired a high explosive squash head (HESH) round, effective against buildings and tank armor. The universally applied nickname arose from the M1 variant's vague resemblance to the musical instrument called a "bazooka" invented and popularized by 1930s U.S. comedian Bob Burns. During World War II, German armed forces captured several bazookas in early North African and Eastern Front encounters and soon reverse engineered their own version, increasing the warhead diameter to 8.8 cm (among other minor changes) and widely issuing it as the Raketenpanzerbüchse "Panzerschreck" ("Tank terror"). The term "bazooka" still sees informal use as a generic term referring to any ground-to-ground shoulder-fired missile weapon (mainly rocket propelled grenades)... World War II Secretly introduced via the Russian front and in November 1942 during Operation Torch, early production versions of the M1 launcher and M6 rocket were hastily supplied to some of the U.S. invasion forces during the landings in North Africa. On the night before the landings, Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower was shocked to discover from a subordinate that none of his troops had received any instruction in the use of the bazooka. Initially supplied with the highly unreliable M6 rocket and without training, the M1 did not play a significant armed role in combat in the North African fighting, but did provide a German intelligence coup when some were captured by the Germans in early encounters with inexperienced US troops. A US general visiting the Tunisian front in 1943 after the close of combat operations could not find any soldiers who could report that the weapon had actually stopped an enemy tank. Further issue of the bazooka was suspended in May 1943. During the Allied invasion of Sicily, small numbers of the M1A1 bazooka (using an improved rocket, the M6A1) were used in combat by US forces. The M1A1 accounted for four medium German tanks and a heavy Tiger I, with the latter being knocked out by an improbable hit through the driver's vision slot. A major disadvantage to the bazooka was the large backblast and smoke trail (in colder weather), which gave away the position of the shooter, mandating quick relocation of the squad. Moreover, the bazooka fire team often had to expose their bodies in order to obtain a clear field of fire against an armored target. Casualties among bazooka team members were extremely high during the war... The M1 bazooka fared much better on the rare occasions when it could be used against the much thinner armor typically fitted to the lower sides, underside, and top of enemy tanks. To hit the bottom panel of an enemy tank, the bazooka operator had to wait until the tank was surmounting a steep hill or other obstruction, while hitting the top armor usually necessitated firing the rocket from the upper story of a building or similar elevated position. Even the heavy King Tiger tank only possessed hull and turret top armor thicknesses of 44 mm (1-3/4 in) thickness at best, capable of being pierced by the American bazooka's shaped-charge rocket ordnance...

Cop Freaks Out When Armed Residents Answer Door

06:45
Police officials in Georgia refuse to release the identity of a detective who showed up to the home of a couple and lost his temper. The residents were armed and the officer didn’t like it. It turned into a shouting match. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian, hosts of The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below. "Earl Cannady and his wife just arrived home from a shopping trip to the local Walmart when their son told them there were cops at the door. The couple both have licenses for their guns which they were both wearing but that must have spooked the cops because they demanded to know why the Georgia couple had guns. He shut the door and walked to get his cell phone to begin recording the video that has since gone viral. The officer accused the couple of being involved with drugs, despite the lack of evidence and the insistence that the family is chemical free. The officer was denied entry into the home because he didn’t have a warrant to search and that’s when things took a turn for the worse. “Now if you got a problem with those kids, you take it up with those kids, but I’m going to tell you something right now, you don’t got a f*cking investigation on me,” Cannady can be heard on the video saying.”* Read more here: https://www.rawstory.com/2016/04/georgia-police-refuse-to-identify-cop-who-went-berserk-in-viral-video/ ********** The Young Turks April 19, 2016 Hour 2 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTpcK80irdQj-7NP2cqJRrLGdgE6wLmRG Teen Live Streams Friend Getting Raped https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygnC_Ojk5B0&index=1&list=PLTpcK80irdQj-7NP2cqJRrLGdgE6wLmRG Cop Freaks Out When Armed Residents Answer Door https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUeYk6_cA-g&index=5&list=PLTpcK80irdQj-7NP2cqJRrLGdgE6wLmRG Whole Foods Sued For Homophobic Slur On Cake https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-nRMVTuGNI&index=3&list=PLTpcK80irdQj-7NP2cqJRrLGdgE6wLmRG Johnny Depp’s Forced Apology To Australia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzaAmKeZED4&index=6&list=PLTpcK80irdQj-7NP2cqJRrLGdgE6wLmRG Anti-Trans Man Changes Name To Bruce Jenner https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3mdAZBdyZc&index=4&list=PLTpcK80irdQj-7NP2cqJRrLGdgE6wLmRG ********** The Largest Online News Show in the World. The robbery occurred at the facility of Canadian company McEwen in Mexico’s Sinaloa state on early Tuesday, Noroeste reported. Mexican authorities said the robbery was likely an inside job, CHEK reported Eight men armed with rifles entered the mine and reportedly handcuffed two workers at the mine before taking the keys to various doors from one of the workers. They were able to enter the vault as the door was left open since the day before, according to Noroeste. McEwen Mining said an estimated 900 kilograms of gold-bearing concentrate containing approximately 7,000 ounces of gold were stolen from the refinery. The amount of stolen gold equals to one-sixth of its annual production, according to teleSUR. McEwen Mining said its insurance policy was insufficient to cover the loss. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Next Media Animation’s News Direct service provides daily, high-quality, informative 3D animated news graphics that fill in for missing footage and help viewers understand breaking news stories or in-depth features on science, technology, and health. 10 Countries Most Afflicted By Modern Slavery

07:06
The ten countries with the most people in modern slavery (victims of human trafficking). Subscribe to TDC: https://www.youtube.com/TheDailyConversation/ The study: https://www.globalslaveryindex.org/findings/ Get involved: http://www.freetheslaves.net/ Full interview with Kevin Bales: http://n.pr/1S54uR7 Video researched, written, narrated, and directed by Bryce Plank Visualization and editing by Robin West Music: "Enter the Maze" by Kevin MacLeod http://incompetech.com/ "Phife for Life" by Otis McDonald Script: Slavery used to look like this, then it evolved into this, and today it looks like this. In fact, there are an estimated 45.8 million people living in modern slavery across 167 different countries. They fall into three general categories: children held in the commercial sex trade; adults held in the commercial sex trade; and any other laborer made to work through force, fraud, or coercion. The trafficking victim often looks like anybody else at work in a mine, on a farm, in a factory. Many are lured by promises of a steady job in another country, only to have their passports confiscated when they arrive. However, many slaves work in their native countries or even the cities where they were born. According to The Global Slavery Index, these ten countries are home to the most modern slaves. They each suffer from income inequality, discrimination and classism, and entrenched corruption. Number ten, Indonesia, produces about 35% of the world’s palm oil. The many small palm plantations present an immense challenge to inspectors trying to crack down on child labor. The country’s many islands are also home to tens of thousands of enslaved fisherman trafficked from Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia. Number nine is the Democratic Republic of Congo. 20,000 of the DRC’s more than 870,000 slaves live in one of the most hellish landscapes on the planet, a vast ore mine in the east of the country. The terrorist group Boko Haram gets overshadowed by ISIS, although it kills more people. When it comes to enslavement, one of its tactics is to give Nigerian entrepreneurs loans and then force them to join their group if they fail to repay fast enough. Seventh is Russia. 55% of the slaves there work in construction. Foreigners are lured mainly from nearby Azerbaijan, the “stans,” Ukraine, and North Korea—thanks to this border on the far eastern edge of Russia. The North Korean government is the world’s largest single slaveholder. Not only does it force more than one million of its people to toil in labor camps and other similarly hopeless situations, but it actually loans out some people to work in neighboring China and Russia, then pockets most of their wages. This exploitation generates about $2.3B each year for the Kim Jong-un regime. The fifth most enslaved country, Uzbekistan, is the world’s sixth largest producer of cotton. It has benefited from forced labor, as the government puts more than 1 million people to work using threats of debt bondage, heavy fines, asset confiscation, and police intimidation. Slave recruiters in Bangladesh promise poor families that their boys will be given a job, only to be enslaved on a faraway island and beaten to clean fish for up to 24 hours straight. Often, these fish are exported as cat food for our pets. Sometimes, the boys meet a gruesome death when they are eaten by tigers while searching for firewood. Third is Pakistan, which has suffered through decades of conflict, terrorism, and displacement—especially along its northwestern border with Afghanistan. Its provinces have not raised the minimum age of marriage, which has allowed the widespread problem of forced and child weddings to continue. Over 250 million Chinese have migrated within the country to find better opportunities, creating the ideal conditions for human trafficking. Each year, 58 million children are ‘left behind’ as their parents search of work in the China’s many booming cities. Every year, up to 70,000 children fall into forced begging, illegal adoption, and sex slavery. And number one is India, which has - by far - the most victims of modern slavery. While economic growth has greatly reduced the percentage of its citizens living in poverty, the country’s sheer size still results in more than 270 million Indians living on less than $2/day. It’s unsurprising that inter-generational bonded labor, forced child labor, commercial sexual exploitation, forced begging, forced recruitment into nonstate armed groups, and forced marriage all exist in India. The government has already created many of the laws necessary to fight the epidemic, but the challenge is enforcing those laws and tracking improvements and areas of continued need.

Do you believe that people should be judged by their character, not their skin color? Do you believe in freedom of religion? If you believe these things, you’re probably not a progressive. You might think you’re a progressive. I used to think I was. My show, “The Rubin Report,” was originally part of the progressive “Young Turks” network. Progressives struck me as liberals, but louder. Progressives were the nice guys; they looked out for the little guy; they cared about women and minorities; they embraced change. In short, who wouldn’t want to be a progressive? But over the last couple years, the meaning of the word “progressive” has changed. Progressives used to say, “I may disagree with what you say, but I will fight to the death for your right to say it.” Not anymore. Banning speakers whose opinions you don’t agree with from college campuses – that’s not progressive. Prohibiting any words not approved of as “politically correct” – that’s not progressive. Putting “Trigger Warnings” on books, movies, music, anything that might offend people – that’s not progressive either. All of this has led me to be believe that much of the left is no longer progressive, but regressive. This is one of the reasons I’ve spent so much time on my show talking about The Regressive Left. This regressive ideology doesn’t judge people as individuals, but as a collective. If you’re black, or female, or Muslim, or Hispanic, or a member of any other minority group, you’re judged differently than the most evil of all things: a white, Christian male. The Regressive Left ranks minority groups in a pecking order to compete in a kind of “Oppression Olympics”. Gold medal goes to the most offended. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream that his children would be judged by their character and not their skin color was a liberal idea, but these days, it’s not a progressive ideal. And what about religious freedom - the idea that no one else can tell you what you have to believe? Surely progressives still support that basic right. Well, not so much. I’m a married gay man, so you might think that I appreciate the government forcing a Christian baker or photographer or florist to act against their religion in order to cater, photograph or decorate my wedding. But you’d be wrong. A government that can force Christians to violate their conscience can force me to violate mine. If a baker won’t bake you a cake, find another baker; don’t demand that the state tell him what to do with his private business. I’m pro-choice. But a government that can force a group of Catholic nuns - literally called the Little Sisters of the Poor - to violate their faith and pay for abortion-inducing birth control can force anyone to do anything. That’s not progressive; that’s regressive! Today's progressivism has become a faux-moral movement, hurling charges of racism, bigotry, xenophobia, homophobia, Islamophobia and a slew of other meaningless buzzwords at anyone they disagree with. The battle of ideas has been replaced by a battle of feelings, and outrage has replaced honesty. Diversity reigns supreme – as long as it’s not that pesky diversity of thought. This isn’t the recipe for a free society, it’s a recipe for authoritarianism. For the complete script, visit https://www.prageru.com/videos/why-i-left-left

NAVY’S MINESWEEPER HUNT GETS RESPONSE FROM RUSSIA & ITALY

01:51
The Navy’s hunt for a new class of mine-hunting warships has got responses from Italy and Russia, after a setback at the last minute with a South Korean firm not agreeing to terms for constructing a dozen vessels under an estimated Rs 32,000-crore ‘Make in India’ project. With minesweepers being identified as one its most critical deficiencies, the Navy is also believed to be sending a team to Australia to examine a set of used vessels that are being upgraded to modern standards. Minesweepers are specialised warships that are used to clear harbours and other critical areas of mines laid by enemy submarines and vessels. While the Navy had 12 of them in active service at one point, this strength is now reduced to the lone INS Kozhikode that is also scheduled for decommissioning soon. India has been trying unsuccessfully since 2005 to find replacements, with its dealings with South Korean firm Kangnam hitting controversy at least twice. In the first instance, the Korean firm was dropped by the UPA government after allegations surfaced that it had appointed ‘consultants’ for the contract, in a violation of Indian procurement norms. While the company was not banned from work in India, it managed to get back into the fray with the Manohar Parrikar-led defence ministry that decided to nominate the Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) for the contract. However, earlier this year, negotiations with the company – which was selected on a single vendor basis — broke down after it failed to meet technology transfer commitments. China Has Detained More Than a Million Muslims | Op-Ed | NowThis

04:25
China has detained more than a million Muslims in concentration camps — and no one is doing anything about it. » Subscribe to NowThis: http://go.nowth.is/News_Subscribe Aydin Anwar, Uyghur American Activist: 'Right now, China’s detained over a million Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims into concentration camps. They are forced to denounce Islam, adopt atheism, and pledge allegiance to the Chinese state. They would spend hours on end chanting in their crowded cells, ‘There’s no such thing as religion,’ or ‘all hail the Chinese state,’ or ‘all hail Chinese President Xi Jinping.’ And if the detainees disobey, or if there’s any type of resistance there is torture being used. Nails are being pulled out, teeth are being pulled out, they’re using snakes to interrogate, people are being beaten until they’re dead, they’re being sterilized – a method used in genocide. They’re being forced to sit on what’s called the ‘tiger chair,’ where they’re clamped down on this chair for hours on end, oftentimes in solitary confinement. People are being sent to these camps for random reasons. One of them could easily be you were in contact with someone abroad, you have a family member abroad, you engage in religion, so if you pray, if you mention the word God in your speech, if you fast – any type of indication that you are practicing religion, that is enough for you to be sent to the camps. And thousands of people have actually been transferred from these camps to prisons. One of my relatives, in early 2017, got put inside one of these camps. Last November, he came out dead. One of my relatives got sent to a camp because he went to the United States to attend my cousin’s wedding in 2014. Last August, he got sentenced to 15 years of prison. Many of my relatives, we don’t know if they’re alive or dead, and there’s not a single Uyghur who doesn’t have at least one family member in these camps, or some form of detention or prison. The worst part is when someone dies, their bodies are not taken to their families, but rather, the bodies are cremated, and that’s another way for China to hide the evidence of bodies coming out of these camps. It doesn’t give us a clear idea of how many people are dying. All this stuff is happening in secret. Children of these detainees have been sent to state-run orphanages and boarding schools where they are taught to hate their own religion, identity, and are forced to speak Chinese, are subject to abuse and torture. The parents don’t know where their kids are. Most towns and villages in East Turkestan are almost empty. Around 70-80% of the civilians are all gone. You walk through the street and it’s eerily silent, because most people are in some form of detention or prison. Schools and factories are now being transformed into these concentration camps. The entire nation of East Turkestan has essentially become a dungeon for its people, because China monitors their every action, even in the home. So, there are millions of Han government caters who are living in Uyghur homes to make sure they’re not engaging in religion and to assess their political views. Practicing Islam is completely banned. So for me to even say something like, oh, I’ll see you tomorrow, God willing, is prohibited because you said the word God. Even having an Islamic name is a crime. So you have to change your name from a name like Muhammad or Fatima to an ethnic Han name. Thousands of Uyghur women are also forced to marry ethnic Han Chinese men. And this is another way to get rid of the next generation of Uyghurs. So why is China cracking down on Uyghurs and Turkic Muslims specifically? East Turkestan is really rich in minerals and resources, so by putting people into camps and basically carrying out an ethnic cleansing, China is attempting to maintain tight control over the mineral-rich man. You might wonder why the world has been really silent about this whole issue, and it’s because of a few reasons. Number one, China has tightly controlled its media, so a lot of what’s happening can’t really be revealed outside to the rest of the world' #China #Muslims #Uyghurs #HumanRights #Turkic Connect with NowThis » Like us on Facebook: http://go.nowth.is/News_Facebook » Tweet us on Twitter: http://go.nowth.is/News_Twitter » Follow us on Instagram: http://go.nowth.is/News_Instagram » Find us on Snapchat Discover: http://go.nowth.is/News_Snapchat NowThis is your premier news outlet providing you with all the videos you need to stay up to date on all the latest in trending news. The U.S. Navy Has a New Plan to Find Deadly Mines in a W@r

07:21
This video shows you that The U.S. Navy Has a New Plan to Find Deadly Mines in a [email protected] The US Navy used an MH-60S helicopter-mounted laser system to scan and detect underwater mine-like targets during the ongoing multi-national Rim of the Pacific exercise, marking the first operational use of an emerging technology bringing much faster detection and a wider Field of View to countermine missions. The now-operational technology, called Airborne Laser Mine Detection System (ALMDS), enables efficient, high-speed shallow water mine detection for the Navy’s Littoral Combat Ship. “This is the first opportunity for a non-test-centric fleet exercise. It has been placed in sailors’ hands and we are looking [email protected] to getting training feedback and tactics feedback. This is the first real operational exercise,” Capt. Danielle George, Program Manager, Mine [email protected], told [email protected] Maven in an interview. George said that the Navy is now analyzing findings and key data emerging from the RIMPAC exercises. “Another system performs post-mission analysis. ALMDS collects all the data and when the helo returns, it will download. Then you have options for how you can destroy the mine,” George said. Instead of using more narrowly configured, mechanized or towed mine detection systems, ALMDS massively expands the surface area from which mine detection takes place. Naturally, this enables shallow-water ships such as the LCS have a much safer sphere of operations as commanders will have much greater advanced [email protected] of mine-cluttered areas. The ALMDS pod is mechanically attached to the MH-60S with a standard Bomb Rack Unit 14 mount and electrically via a primary and auxiliary umbilical cable to the operator console, according to a statement from the systems maker, Northrop Grumman. “It does not use any bombs. It flies at a certain altitude and a certain speed. The laser emits beams at a certain rate. Cameras underneath the helicopter receive reflections back from the water. The reflections are processed to create images displayed on a common consol on the helicopter,” Jason Cook, the Navy’s Assistant Program Manager, ALMDS, told [email protected] Maven in an interview. Chem Trails in Perth Western Australia (Swine Flu)

00:53
I saw an absolute massive Chem Trail (30 July) one in such plain (plane) sight at work today in Perth suburbs, Western Australia. Low and behold, my camera on my mobile phone wouldn't work because my battery just went flat right before I took the shot Dohhh!!!!!!! So I raced to get one from somewhere else and this was the footage I took. Believe me, when I was going to take the shot from my mobile, the plane view was very close and the trail so clear. I could see clearly where the spray was coming out of from the plane and the plane looked just like all the other chem trail planes on the youtube vids. Very credible people and those in the industry testify to what these are, I stand my ground on what is being suggested here until there is evidence to the contrary, but the evidence is stacked heavily on the chemtrail side. I heard they are spreading swine flu through Chemtrails and then using it as an excuse to vaccinate or force vaccinations. DON'T TAKE SWINE FLU VACCINATIONS OR ANY VACCINATIONS ...seek the truth and you shall find! Speak to your local Patriot Group via law remedy, know that you are more powerful than swine flu and use MMS (Miracle Mineral Supplement) to counteract the deadliest of pathogens. There is no point just talking about this stuff and spreading the fear, we need to put the intent of them having nill effect at least, however that is...through prayer or meditation/group meditation (Maharishi effect), start following these planes, making press releases and making these traitors accountable. If we fear about this stuff and/or do nothing about it in a positive direction, these plans of theirs will be fulfilled. It is up to us who knows about this stuff to do something about it. One good intention can destroy the harmful effects of these genocide machines. If someone is in the position to alert a program like Today Tonight, I have got this footage on video. SUPER FAST US Navy HSV 2 Swift Catamaran

04:08
The United States Navy (USN) is the naval warfare service branch of the United States Armed Forces and one of the seven uniformed services of the United States. It is larger than the next 13 largest navies combined in terms of battle fleet tonnage, according to one estimate.[5][6] The U.S. Navy also has the world's largest carrier fleet, with 10 in service, one under construction (two planned), and two in reserve. The service has 317,054 personnel on active duty and 109,671 in the Navy Reserve. It operates 283 ships in active service and more than 3,700 aircraft.[3] HSV-2 Swift is a non-commissioned, hybrid catamaran originally leased by the United States Navy as a mine countermeasures and sea basing test platform. She is now privately owned and operated by Sealift Inc. and chartered to the United States Navy Military Sealift Command. She is primarily used for fleet support and humanitarian partnership missions. The HSV stands for "High Speed Vessel", and its home port is Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek in Norfolk, Virginia. The vessel has two CONMAR crews that typically rotate every three months to keep the ship deployed eleven months per year. The minimum crew size is 35; 18 are military with the balance civilian, provided through American Maritime Officers and Seafarers International Union. On rare occasion that she is in a United States port, it is usually Naval Station Mayport, Florida, supporting the Fourth Fleet or Charleston, South Carolina, for major maintenance. Rota, Spain, is considered by the crew to be the "Mediterranean home away from home".[1] The ship was constructed by the Australian shipbuilder Incat in Hobart, Tasmania, and was leased to the U.S. Navy through Bollinger/Incat of Lockport, Louisiana. She was the second catamaran the Navy leased to test new technologies and concepts associated with the Chief of Naval Operations's "Seapower 21" plan. The contract value for the first year was $21.7 million. Swift is the fourth Incat-built high-speed wave piercing catamaran to enter military service, following behind HMAS Jervis Bay, U.S. Army Vessel (USAV) Theater Support Vessel Spearhead (TSV-X1) and HSV-X1 Joint Venture. It is a wave-piercing, aluminum-hulled, commercial catamaran with military enhancements, such as a helicopter flight deck, strengthened vehicle deck, small boat and unmanned vehicle launch and recovery capability, and an enhanced communications suite. It features a new, modular design, which will allow the ship to be refitted to support any mission without requiring long shipyard periods. While from the front the vessels appear to look like a trimaran, the centre hull does not rest in the water and is not used for buoyancy. As a logistics vessel, it does not have water-tight compartments or weapons systems. Its propulsion is provided by directional water jets, so it doesn't have propellers or a rudder for steering and can maneuver in twelve feet of water.[1] The Pentagon is the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, located in Arlington County, Virginia. As a symbol of the U.S. military, "the Pentagon" is often used metonymically to refer to the U.S. Department of Defense rather than the building itself. Designed by American architect George Bergstrom (1876--1955), and built by general contractor John McShain of Philadelphia, the building was dedicated on January 15, 1943, after ground was broken for construction on September 11, 1941. General Brehon Somervell provided the major motive power behind the project;[4] Colonel Leslie Groves was responsible for overseeing the project for the U.S. Army. The Pentagon is a large office building, with about 6,500,000 sq ft (600,000 m2), of which 3,700,000 sq ft (340,000 m2) are used as offices.[5][6] Approximately 28,000 military and civilian employees[6] and about 3,000 non-defense support personnel work in the Pentagon. It has five sides, five floors above ground, two basement levels, and five ring corridors per floor with a total of 17.5 mi (28.2 km)[6] of corridors. The Pentagon includes a five-acre (20,000 m2) central plaza, which is shaped like a pentagon and informally known as "ground zero," a nickname originating during the Cold War and based on the presumption that the Soviet Union would target one or more nuclear missiles at this central location in the outbreak of a nuclear war.[7] The United States of America (USA), commonly referred to as the United States (U.S.), America, or simply the States, is a federal republic[10][11] consisting of 50 states, 16 territories, and a federal district. The 48 contiguous states and the federal district of Washington, D.C., are in central North America between Canada and Mexico. The state of Alaska is the northwestern part of North America and the state of Hawaii is an archipelago in the mid-Pacific.

Triple M Brisbane's Johnno Keetels was there to see all the Slash mayhem and said the intimate setting made it one of the best concerts of his life. "It was absolutely off-tap. A stadium show in a little theatre!," he exclaimed after being one of the 1000 fans that crammed into The Tivoli. This was Slash's only sideshow from his Soundwave 2011 festival appearance, with him and his band, featuring singer Myles Kennedy, ripping through a set of Slash songs, Gunners classics and the odd Velvet Revolver tune. "From "Ghost" through to "Civil War", "Nightrain" and "Sweet Child O' Mine", Slash ripped on them all! His body of work speaks for itself, and he just shreds on each and every song. "And then [for the] encore Andrew Stockdale from Wolfmother comes out for "By The Sword". Holy s**t! "To finish [he does] an unbelievable version of "Paradise City", with some maniacal guitar work from the man himself." It was a show to remember and Johnno had this hit prediction. "In Myles Kennedy, we may have the world's next great frontman!"

Why does Australia FEAR China? - VisualPolitik EN

13:52
It has been 45 years since China and Australia established diplomatic relations. Throughout this time, both countries have established one of the most fruitful, controversial and interesting relationships in the entire planet. Economic relations are very important for Australia: today China is by far its largest trading partner; 1 out of every 20 inhabitants of this country belongs to the Chinese community and both its universities and beaches are packed with students and tourists from the Asian giant. Thanks partly to all this, Australians have not experienced a crisis in almost 30 years. However, these growing ties clash with Washington’s interests, and in 2017 the Australian government decided once and for all to take sides. Since then, a diplomatic storm has been unleashed and Australia's Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has not refrained from blaming the Chinese intelligence services for wanting to corrupt Australian politics and society. In this video we’ll tell you what’s happening in this particular cold war, that is beginning to emerge between China and the United States. The University of Adelaide has worked in partnership with the Australian defence sector for many years to give our armed forces an edge, and ultimately protect the safety, freedom and prosperity of the Australian people. Our world-class researchers are leading or contributing to the discovery and application of valuable advances in a wide range of defence-related areas: from innovative submarine modelling technology and fighter-wing sensors, to AI visual analysis tools and service personnel’s mental health. We’ve also established strong relationships with prominent government organisations, such as the Defence Science and Technology (DST) Group, and are providing the sector with a constant supply of high-quality, highly skilled graduates. In this detailed presentation, some of the University’s leading researchers will briefly review this proud history, and highlight a number of exciting defence projects they have underway. THE PRESENTERS Professor Michael Webb is Director, Defence and Security at the University of Adelaide, and Deputy Director (Defence) at its Centre for Defence Communications and Information Networking. He is also a former lead researcher at DST Group, and a past recipient of an Australian Operational Service Medal (Iraq and ICAT), and an award for Excellence for contributions to enhancing the safety of Australia’s deployed troops. Associate Professor Bruce Northcote directs the University of Adelaide’s Centre for Defence Communications Information Networking, and its Teletraffic Research Centre. He is also CEO of TelAri, a commercial spin-out, and a former Associate Member on the board of the Rapid Prototyping, Development and Evaluation (RPDE) Program, a joint initiative between industry and the Australian Department of Defence. Modi Govt. Pushes For Big Bang Defence Reforms Unified Tri Services Command Soon

04:30
This video shows you that Modi Govt. pushes for Big Bang Defence Reforms Unified Tri Services Command Soon. The armed forces have formulated a new "joint doctrine" to ensure the Army, Navy and IAF plan and work together to effectively tackle the entire spectrum of conflict, ranging from full blown conventional wars to irregular and hybrid warfare, in the years ahead. Defence ministry sources say the around 80-page doctrine, which will formally be released next week, underlines the need for "application of military power" in an integrated manner to enhance operational efficiency as well as optimise utilisation of resources for a greater military punch from limited budgetary funds. Not only does the doctrine chart out a broad framework of principles for joint planning and the need to build an integrated land-air-sea-cyberspace war-fighting machinery, but also "signals" the intent of the Indian armed forces to the world at large, say the sources. But the doctrine comes at a time when India is still dragging its feet to create unified military structures from a desperately-needed tri-Service chief or chief of defence staff (CDS), which has been hanging fire since the 1999 Kargil conflict, to integrated theatre commands in the long-term. All this, incidentally, was discussed at the combined commanders' conference held at Dehradun in January, attended by PM Narendra Modi, as was first reported by TOI. Similarly, the long-awaited tri-Service organisations to handle the critical areas of space, cyberspace and special operations are still stuck due to politico-bureaucratic apathy. This despite the fact that the original proposal for full-fledged commands was whittled down to creation of just a Cyber Defence Agency, Defence Space Agency and Special Operations Directorate. In sharp contrast, China has an expansive military space programme and specialised cyber-warfare units, while last year it also re-organised its 2.3-million People's Liberation Army into five theatre commands for better command-and-control and greater offensive capabilities. The "Joint Doctrine of the Indian Armed Forces - 2017" is nevertheless a positive step to address the lack of military synergy in the country, with the Army, Navy and IAF often pulling in different directions on doctrinal, training, planning, procurement and operational matters. The integrated defence staff has prepared the doctrine, pitched at the "military strategic level", after extensive consultations with the three Service headquarters. Apart from the national security perspective and the use of military as an instrument of national power, the doctrine also dwells upon "external and internal threats", "traditional and non-traditional threats", "state and non-state actors", said the sources. "The first joint doctrine was released in 2006. Since then, a lot has changed in terms of geopolitics, threat perceptions, new dimensions in conflict, technology, policies and the like. This second doctrine looks at all that," said a source. A military doctrine is basically a set of ideas and beliefs, which sets a country's approach to national security challenges and how it plans to fight a war. The new joint doctrine will achieve its purpose if India rapidly moves towards integrated military structures and undertakes long-term strategic planning to systematically build military capabilities in tune with its geopolitical aspirations. air force india, air force planes, army indian, iaf, india defence export, indian air force, indian air force aircraft, indian air force information, indian air force planes, indian air force strength, indian aircraft, indian armed forces, indian army, indian army news, indian force, indian military, indian navy, indian navy force, indian navy ships, navy india ====================================================================================================== DISCLAIMER: Each and every content used in this video is not imaginary. "The rise of [IS] may prompt al-Qaeda to do something to show that it is still relevant," he said. Suspects arrested On Friday, Spain's interior ministry said Spanish and Moroccan police had arrested nine people suspected of belonging to a militant cell linked to the IS group. A statement from the ministry said the suspects belonged to a group based in the Spanish enclave of Melilla, on the northern coast of Africa, and the neighbouring town of Nador, in Morocco. One of those arrested is reported to be Spanish; the rest are Moroccan nationals. Earlier this week, the UN Security Council adopted a binding resolution compelling states to prevent their nationals from joining jihadists in Iraq and Syria. The US military released footage of air strikes on IS-controlled oil refineries in eastern Syria on Thursday, carried out by US, Saudi and UAE aircraft. Sales of smuggled crude oil have helped finance the jihadists' offensive in both countries. Three new strikes targeting IS positions in Deir al-Zour in eastern Syria were confirmed by the US on Friday morning. The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors the conflict in Syria, said the new strikes caused casualties but the numbers were unclear. US military footage shows a strike on the Jeribe refinery in eastern Syria Pentagon spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby said the purpose of Thursday's strikes was "not necessarily to kill militants" but to destroy the oil facilities, which were funding IS through the black market. He said the strikes had been effective but not yet decisive, adding that IS militants "still have financing at their fingertips". He said it was too soon to talk of "winning" against IS, adding that they still "have plenty of weapons and vehicles and the ability to move around". UK votes on action The US says more than 40 countries have offered to join the anti-IS coalition. The Danish government announced on Friday it would be joining the military operations against IS - but only in Iraq. Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt said the move needed to be approved in a vote in Denmark's parliament, but said it was considered a formality. No date was given for the vote. She told reporters the deployment would consist of seven F-16 fighter jets - four operational planes and three in reserve - along with 250 pilots and support staff. MPs in the UK are currently debating joining the air strikes on IS in Iraq. Jump media playerMedia player helpOut of media player. Press enter to return or tab to continue. Yolande Knell spoke to displaced Iraqis in Erbil's Baharka refugee camp The office of Prime Minister David Cameron said UK forces could legally join the bombing of targets in Iraq after the Iraqi minister of foreign affairs wrote to the UN seeking international assistance. Mr Cameron told the UN on Wednesday IS was an "evil against which the whole world must unite". The Australian Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, says his government will decide in the coming days whether to join the air strikes in Iraq and Syria. Mr Abbott said it was in Australia's interest to play its part in what he called the fight "against the murderous death cult".

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte Rodrigo Duterte gestures during a news conference on the sidelines of the Association of South East Asian Nations ASEAN summit in Pasay, metro Manila, Philippines, November 14, 2017. REUTERSDondi TawataoThe Philippines has been in onagain, offagain peace talks with the National Democratic Front NDF, the political arm of the communist movement, since 1986 to end a rebellion that has killed more than 40,000 people and stunted growth in resourcerich rural areas. In a speech honoring soldiers who fought proIslamic State militants for five months in the southern city of Marawi, Duterte said that attacks from the Maoist rebels had been on the rise, forcing him to end negotiations, and that he would declare the guerrilla group a terrorist organization. “If I go against the communists, then everybody has to reconfigure their relationship with the New People’s Army,” he said, referring to the communists’ armed wing. “If you support them financially, I will close you down.” Duterte said some mines were paying “revolutionary taxes” to the rebels in exchange for allowing their operations in remote areas to continue. He did not name any companies. Mines in the Philippines, many with foreign partners, are digging for gold, nickel, copper, chromite and coal. The Mines and Geosciences Bureau said the country had estimated $840 billion worth of untapped mineral wealth as of 2012. The rebels are also engaged in smallscale mining, like gold panning in the south. Mining companies shared the president’s position, Ronald Recidoro, executive director at the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines, said. “We do not condone any member supporting the New People’s Army through the payment of revolutionary taxes,” Recidoro told Reuters. “This i... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
