The World's Largest Dump Truck - Belaz 75710
Tucked away on construction sites most people won’t ever see are dump trucks so large it’s hard to believe are real. On this episode we bring you the World’s largest dump truck. The BelAZ 75710 made by Belarusian company BelAZ is the world largest, highest payload capacity haul truck. The truck is built with a conventional two axle setup but has doubled wheels, four to an axle. It has 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel hydraulic steering, which is unusual. The truck is 30 feet or 9 meters tall with wheels taller than most people. The BelAz 75710 is powered by two 2,300 horsepower motors with a top speed of 40 mph or 64 kph. It was designed for work in giant mining operations. The truck itself weighs over 750,000 pounds or 340 000 kg, to put that into perspective the average midsize car weighs 3500 lbs or 1600 kg making this dump truck weigh the equivalent of the combined weight of 215 cars. When it comes to hauling, this beast can carry up to 992,000 pounds or 450000 kg of material. Now I’m sure you’re thinking of picking one up, it’ll cost you around 6 million dollars. The intensive engineering programme for the ALPHA tipping system resulted in the following revolutionary developments: A totally new cylinder design, with changes to virtually every component apart from the sealing system. A new hydraulic tank of a capacity exactly matched to the cylinder volume, with reinforced body and strap mounting to avoid high stress concentration in the tank at the mounting points, and featuring an optimised air breather system. Not only is it a functional improvement, its smart lines will enhance the appearance of any tipper truck. An innovative cylinder-mounted HT valve incorporating a new, highly reliable and stable pressure relief valve for maximum safety. A new gear pump with even greater reliability over a wider pressure range than the existing Hyva gear pump. KH-KIPPER One-way W1MV tipper is a vehicle designed for operation in mines in the extremely difficult conditions. It can be used for any kind of load, for expample, coal, anthracite or metallic ore. The characteristic feature of the body is the fact that there is no need to apply any reinforcements on the floor. The construction of floor of the W1MV body is made of HARDOX HB 450 high-resistant steel plate with two bendings. W1MV is equipped with the floor which is made of only one-layer of steel.Due to the removal of unnecessary elements, the construction has become more resilient and thus, more durable and resistant to damage. The plate of side walls is reinforced only with the upper profile, rear profile and front wall. The mechanical properties of HARDOX HB 450 steel of which the side walls are made ensure effective protection against damage. Due to half-octagonal contruction of the body and sloped front wall, the unloaded material does not adhere in the corners of the body. A raised rear part of the floor prevents the load from falling out while driving on an incline. This especially involves small fraction material. Big roof has been mounted in such a way in order to secure the upper profile of the front wall against falling elements during loading.

They use a unique hauler technology that has lasted them through the ages. In addition to the timeless technique, they’ve added a brand new, high-efficiency Advanced IGBT AC-Drive system. Hitachi is one of the most eco-friendly companies that produce hauling trucks. They can raise profits by lowering fuel and maintenance costs. They are able to spend less, to make more, and get more done in the process. The machine itself weighs about 550 tons, but has a payload of 325 tons. With a 2,850 hp, the Hitachi EH5000AC-3 knows how to get the most out of its fuel. It also has safety measures built in. A Slip/Slide Control System will add traction in slippery conditions, such a rainstorm or when ice is on the roads. Not to mention, this makes sharp turns much easier as well. A pitch control system will allow this truck to drive over rough roads with ease. Meaning, the driver won’t lose any of its load when off-road. With LCDs, heating/cooling controls, independent cabs, monitoring cameras, and much more, it is likely this machine is the most advanced and well thought out truck in the world. #8 BelAZ 75710 As the make suggests, the BelAZ is a manufacturer based in Belarus. As of 2016, it is the world's largest, highest payload capacity haul truck. The BelAz 75710 is equipped with a two-axle setup yet the wheels are a four to an axle! Because of this, it also needs eight large 59/80R63 tires. Four-wheel drive and four-wheel hydraulic steering is seen on this truck. A funny addition considering its turning radius is only 20 meters. It can be loaded to a capacity of nearly 500 short tons and still drive as usual. Though empty, it still weighs over 350 tons. It is 66 feet long, 26 feet tall, and 32 feet wide. That’s about three times as tall as a Giraffe. Rather than using the power of one single engine, it is powered by two 65-litre 16-cylinder diesel engines, each of these engines having 2,300 horsepower. Since the fuel consumption is 198 g/kWh per engine, there is an option to use only one engine when carrying smaller loads. At its best, it can travel 40 miles per hour. BelAz believes in this 2013 truck so much, that they have invested $644 million in increasing its total production capacity. #7 Caterpillar 797F The Caterpillar 797F is Caterpillar's largest, highest payload capacity haul truck! It appears to be every little boy’s dream to drive one of these when he grows up as the 797 series is the perfect Tonka truck model! The Caterpillar 797F was first mentioned to the public at MINExpo International in September, 2008. This guy was the successor to the 797B. The 797F has a higher payload capacity and a more powerful, more efficient engine than its predecessor. Because of these increases, Caterpillar could meet the needs of mine operators' so they were able to increase the efficiency of their work. They also saved money by reducing the costs considering the payload was much higher, meaning less trips, less fuel, less time. The payload capacity? 400 short tons! The horsepower? A gross 4,000! The top speed? 42 miles per hour! This truck is fully geared with a rear axle mounted, computer controlled, seven speed planetary transmissions that is equipped with an integral lock-up torque converter. #6 Bucyrus MT 6300AC You have to see this military-style machine to believe it! Built for mining, it is a sight to behold and a wondrous machine unlike any other! The Bucyrus MT6300AC is an off road, double-axle, ultra class, diesel/AC electric powertrain haul truck. It was designed and manufactured by Bucyrus International Inc. in America. The MT6300AC is the company’s biggest, highest payload capacity haul truck, and closing in on the highest in the world at 400 short tons. Even fully-loaded, this hauler can reach speeds of up to 40 miles per hour. On February 19, 2010, the Terex Unit Rig MT6300AC was re-branded which created the Bucyrus MT6300AC. This took place when Bucyrus International Inc. took over the mining equipment area of Terex Corporation. You may know Bucyrus makes as Caterpillar's UnitRigs as in 2011, Caterpillar took over a good part of the Bucyrus trucks.

World's biggest haul truck BelAZ with a dumping capacity of 450 T
The BelAz 75710 has a conventional two-axle setup but the wheels are doubled, four to an axle, like a scaled-up International Payhauler 350. For this reason, it needs eight 59/80R63 tires.[1] It also has four-wheel drive and four-wheel hydraulic steering which is unusual. It has a turning radius of about 20 m (66 ft). The 75710 can carry a 450 metric ton (496 short ton) load.[2] With an empty weight of 360 tonnes, it is much more heavily built than the previous model, which weighed 240 tonnes when empty.[3] It is 20.6 m (68 ft) long, 8.16 m (26.8 ft) high, and 9.87 m (32.4 ft) wide. The bed is relatively shallow, limiting the volume of material that can be carried. Instead of a single engine, the Siemens MMT 500 drive system is powered by two MTU 65-litre 16-cylinder four stroke diesel engines, each with 2,300 horsepower. These are coupled to two AC alternators and four AC traction motors (two in each axle).[4] Fuel consumption (according to company data) is 198 g/kWh per engine, with option to run on only one if carrying less than capacity loads. Maximum speed is 64 km/h (40 mph), and economy maximum speed (when fully loaded and on a 10% gradient) is 40 km/h (25 mph).[5] The complex propulsion system, in addition to the shallow bed, doubled tires, and very heavy empty weight, has led to concerns about operating efficiency BELAZ-75710 technical data. how much stone is in a tri axle dump truck load
Here's an idea of how much stone is in a tri axle dump truck load. It's a lot but not that much. I had 36 tons delivered in a tri axle dump truck. It was $7.68 a ton and $80.00 to deliver. Roughly cost me $268.00 not exact. So that's how much stone you get and the cost of everything.
Worlds Biggest Dump Truck
http://www.shipyourcarnow.com Who doesn't remember playing with dump trucks as a kid? I know I do, and I know I loved getting covered in mud doing it too! As much fun as I had with my dump trucks, they were nothing like this monster of a truck. The Liebherr T 282B is the world's largest, highest payload capacity (363 tons) haul truck in the world. With a V-20, putting out 3650-horsepower, and with its maximum torque reaching an impressive 14457Nm (Newton meter), I would have had a blast playing in the mud with this monster of a dump truck! This Dump Truck is not a Toy With the cost of one of these Liebherr T 282B's being between $4-5 million it's highly unlikely anyone will have one of these as a back yard toy. These giant dump trucks are used primarily for working with coal, iron, copper, and gold mines all over the world. On March 29, 2004 the T282B was introduced to the public as an off-road construction type vehicle. Being 50 ft 3 in long, and 29 ft 10 in wide makes this dump truck too large for public roads, and even has to have the assembly completed once delivered to its destination site. Just the tires alone are taller than a person! When fully loaded this dump truck moves at 40 mph, which doesn't seem like much considering it has 3,650-horsepower -- until you remember it's carrying almost 400 tons in the back of it! With speed like that it's a good thing they aren't street legal. The Engine The T282-B is actually run with a DDC/MTU 20V4000 motor offering the greatest output of any commercially available vehicle in the world. The engine has 20 cylinders arranged in a V pattern and weighs in at 10.4 tons by itself, and also has a capacity of 90 liters. One of the most important things about the Liebherrs T 282B is its engine, which is a diesel electric drive that powers an electric generator which powers the alternating current driving motors. Compared to the mechanically propelled Kippern, the advantages brought by this engine are enormous improvements. Besides the service life being substantially longer for the drive system, the improvements in transferring power to the wheels is a major upgrade seen in this dump truck. http://www.shipyourcarnow.com "dump truck" "liebherr" "liebherr dump truck" "t282b" "t-282b" "leihberr t282b" "leibherr t-282b"

Yes its true! General Motors developed the Titan in response to the need for more efficient haul trucks by open pit mine operators. GM believed that a general decrease in mineral ore quality combined with a projected need to mine tar shale and tar sands would increase the quantity of ore hauled by surface mine operators' trucks, worldwide. Terex put the 33-19 "Titan" into service with Kaiser Steel at its iron mine at Eagle Mountain, California, in January 1975.[7][8] The 33-19 "Titan" experienced frequent downtime, but over the course of its four years of service at the Eagle Mountain mine, the 33-19 "Titan" hauled approximately 3.5 million tons of earth.

Massive 1000 hp Kenworth C510 with 5 trailer road train
These Massive 1000 horsepower Kenworth C510s at Burton Downs Mine are specifically designed for off-highway use and rated up to 250 tonne. They’re powered by Cummins’ 19-litre QSK-19 engine which complies with Australian on-highway emission requirements (ADR80). Designed primarily for high-end road train applications, the big-bore Cummins engine provides superior levels of durability and reliability than is currently available from smaller cubic capacity engines. The engine delivers 606 hp (447 kW) at 2100 rpm, with peak torque of 1950 lb ft (2644 Nm) at 1300 rpm. Other key components include an 18-speed Fuller RTLO-22918B transmission, with a first gear ratio of 14.4:1 through to 0.73:1 in overdrive. Rear axles are Axle Tech STRC-1297 hub reduction (they’re the old Rockwell off-road model) with a final ratio of 9.59:1. The front axle is Rockwell FL941 rated at 9.1 tonne and the 295 mm deep chassis which has a far thicker web and flange than its highway cousins and features a full length double frame. These power trailer units have a Smith built body on the power-trans chassis (they’re the company who built the power trailer unit) and they’re fitted with either Cummins ISX or Signature engines rated at 450 and 500 horsepower. They are coupled to an Allison automatic transmission and tri-drive SISU hub reduction axles. The control of these trailers is via both a cab mounted hand throttle and married to the accelerator pedal. The advantage of this for instance is when the unit is climbing a hill the trailer can be set at full throttle and when the driver changes gear in the Kenworth C510 there is minimal road speed loss as the trailer is still pushing the unit.

Bagasse Dump Truck No. 1 (Body Upgrade)
The dump body was designed to handle bagasse at the Tableland Mill in Mareeba. The body capacity is 50 cubic meters and 10 tonne. The tailgate is hydraulically operated and is designed to allow the bagasse to discharge into the new bagasse load-in facility and also onto the stockpile without any contact with the tailgate which allows a full compliment of bagasse to discharge the dump body very quickly. A full set of design and workshop drawings and plate cutting files were produced from the model. Earthmoving classics: Birth of the Articulated Dump Truck
Birth of Articulated Dump Trucks: by Richard Campbell RG LeTourneau was responsible for one heck of a lot of earthmoving equipment, and more importantly, ideas and methods. Constantly striving to gain the lowest possible cost per cubic yard was an obsession that fired his imagination and resulted in many of the machines we take for granted today. Although they may look a little different now, having metamorphosed over the years, LeTourneau produced many types of machines that changed very little in purpose, and one of those is the articulated dump truck. LeTourneau’s first articulated dumper, the Tourntailer, was manufactured in 1938 and was based on a Model A Tournapull. Holding 28 cubic yards, the machine was entirely cable operated and featured slide out ejection, the entire upper body moving backwards over a stationary floor and gravity doing the rest. Next machine to receive the treatment was the 1940 Model C Tournapull, which also featured a slide out body known as the W210, however this machine only held 10 cubic yards. LeTourneau Australia built a home-grown variant of the dumper body called the ‘Rock-Buggy’ for use behind the Australian manufactured C-Standard Tournapull. The dump bed, which held approximately 10 cubic yards, was scow-shaped, and was raised by cable on a fabricated ladder arrangement. Over 50 of these were manufactured at LeTourneau’s Rydalmere plant. RG LeTourneau saw these machines when he visited the Australian LeTourneau plant in New South Wales in 1949 and was highly impressed. They were the forerunner of what was to become the Tournarocker. Following the war, LeTourneau set about designing some much tougher articulated rear dumpers which he christened “Tournarockers”. These were made available for all four sizes of Tournapull – A, B, C and D and ranged in capacity from 10 to 50 tons. The beauty of these units is they could be interchanged with other rear attachments on the Tournapull as they were only connected by four heavy duty bolts and an electrical socket (which provided power to the electric motor that worked the cable winch). Regardless of what attachment your Tournapull was fitted with, you could swap it for a Tournarocker as all the controls for operating it were already in place in the tractor unit, truly a ‘modular machine’. We should also not forget that now, when 50 ton all-wheel drive ADTs are just beginning to show up, LeTourneau already had in 1948, a 50 ton articulated hauler, the Model A with E50 Tournarocker. When LeTourneau sold his business to Westinghouse Air Brake Co in 1953, Wabco acquired all the tooling, jigs and patent rights to manufacture Tournarockers. Wabco was well aware that it had a niche market with these machines as they could traverse much rougher ground than a standard, rigid frame rear dump, and were also more manoeuvrable. Other manufacturers had also taken note of the Tournarocker’s success and, during the mid-1950s, a whole host of Tournarocker ‘clones’ began to appear in the market. Some were good and others of indifferent quality but all were vying for a share of the market. In a lot of cases the primary manufacturer of the dump body was different to the tractor unit supplier, which resulted in some interesting partnerships and hybrids. Allis-Chalmers made its own dump body trailers, but also offered a forced ejection dump body built by the Yuba Movall Corp. These were cable operated and some were imported into New Zealand. At least three were later converted to hydraulic control behind Terex S-24 tractor units. Caterpillar partnered up with the Athey Products Corp, and was a successful relationship that lasted many years. It also produced dump bodies for some post-1968 Terex machines. Caterpillar also had a short-term relationship with Hardwick which manufactured hydraulically controlled forced ejection dump bodies. Examples of these were also imported into this country and used at their Kopuku mine site in the Waikato. Euclid had an agreement with Easton, which manufactured a very rugged deep bottomed dump bed. Easton built bodies for the S-7, S-12, S-18 and S-24. This partnership appears to have been terminated in 1968 when GM lost the rights to the trademark Euclid name. Other minor players included Clark-Michigan and Wooldridge/Curtiss-Wright, both of which manufactured their own dump bodies. Wabco continued to build Tournarockers up to the introduction of the hydraulic controlled 229 and 339 machines in 1967/68 when they were quietly dropped from the catalogue. Bingham Canyon Mine, The Largest Open-Pit Mines in the World
The Bingham Canyon Mine, also known as the Kennecott Copper Mine, is an open-pit mining operation extracting a large porphyry copper deposit southwest of Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, in the Oquirrh Mountains. The Bingham Canyon Mine is one of the largest open-pit mines in the world, measuring more than 4 kilometers or 2.5 miles wide and 1,200 meters or 3,900 feet deep. Since 1906, when the first steam shovels began removing waste rock from the sides of the mountain to reach the low-grade copper ore deposits,Bingham Canyon Mine has yielded more than 19 million tons of copper, 23 million ounces of gold, 190 million ounces of silver, plus other minerals. The value of the resources extracted from here is greater than the Comstock Lode, Klondike, and California gold rush mining regions combined! Bingham Canyon discovered in 1848 by two brothers, Sanford and Thomas Bingham. Although they reported the find to their leader, Brigham Young advised against pursuing mining operations because the survival and establishment of Mormon settlements was of greater importance at that time. It was not until 1863 that extraction of low-grade porphyry copper ore began. These nineteenth-century mines, though, were relatively small. However, in 1903, Daniel Jackling and Enos Wall organized the Utah Copper Company and began construction of a pilot mill at Copperton, just beyond the mouth of the canyon. Serious mining efforts got underway in 1906. The Kennecott Copper Corporation that operated mines in Kennecott, Alaska, acquired the company in 1936. this mine, which is on the National Register of Historic Sites, is just one of the two man-made objects on earth that can be seen by astronauts from outer space. The other is the Great Wall Of China. [source 1 2] On April 10, 2013, Bingham Canyon also produced the largest, non-volcanic landslide in the history of North America when 65–70 million cubic meters of dirt and rock thundered down the side of the pit. The event was large enough that seismic networks designed to record earthquakes detected the rumble of sliding debris. [source] Today, the mine is owned by Rio Tinto Group, an international mining and exploration company headquartered in the United Kingdom. The copper operations at Bingham Canyon Mine are managed through Kennecott Utah Copper Corporation (KUCC) which operates the mine, a concentrator plant, a smelter, and a refinery. As of 2010, KUCC is the second largest copper producer in the United States and meets about 13-18% percent of the country’s needs for copper. [source] A big tire from one of the mine's 190-ton capacity dump trucks that serves as a photo op, and a tape loop that spouts facts 'n figures about the mighty hole in English, Spanish, German, and Japanese. "The Bingham Canyon Mine produces a quarter-millions tons of copper annually," it announces. "The mine has been dubbed, 'The Richest Hole on Earth'." Image credit Stephanie Ip

20 tons of stone delivered by dump truck
Delivery of 20 tons of stone by NJ Sand and Gravel to our home in Ocean Beach 3 at the Jersey Shore. Weight is equivalent to 10 elephants! For reference, it was 3/8" white pebble; much easier on the feet than larger stones. It dries white, not yellow. The total area of the yard is about 2,400 square feet. We ended up having a little leftover, maybe a ton, which we're saving under our deck. It took two men and a wheelbarrow about 5 hours to spread all of it. Good luck!
