If you found this video useful please like it - unfortunately, we have some haters on our channel and need your support. How important is location and jurisdiction? If I'm rewarded for taking a bigger risk with a lower price, then I will probably invest in a higher risk country. There must be some red flags when looking at companies. Management is incredibly important - from finding something to developing it and pouring your first metal... Proven management is key so the track record is incredibly important. Mining is a team effort. Please like this video if you have found it interesting/useful. Neodymium Is In Demand And China Controls Its Supply

05:53
Powerful magnets are necessary for an iPhone to vibrate or a Tesla Model 3's motor to spin. If you combine neodymium with iron and boron, you can make a neodymium-iron-boron magnet, which is the most powerful type of permanent magnet ever created. And demand for these magnets is on the rise. But 80 percent of the world's neodymium comes from China. You may not have heard of neodymium, but you're probably carrying some of it around with you right now. It's in your cellphone, your headphones and you might be driving several pounds of it around in your car. Neodymium — pronounced "nee-oh-DIM-ee-um" — is one of 17 chemically similar elements called rare earth elements, and demand for this metal is on the rise. "Neodymium is responsible for most, if not all, of the growth in rare earth demand at the moment," said Roderick Eggert, deputy director of the Critical Materials Institute at Colorado School of Mines. For an iPhone to vibrate, for AirPods to play music, for wind turbines to generate power and for a Toyota Prius or Tesla Model 3's motor to spin, they need powerful magnets. If you combine neodymium with iron and boron, you can make a neodymium-iron-boron magnet, which is the most powerful type of permanent magnet ever created. In the case of your cellphone and earbuds, using neodymium magnets means they can be physically tiny but still strong. For motors, using permanent magnets means powerful, efficient motors with fewer electromagnetic components. » Subscribe to CNBC: http://cnb.cx/SubscribeCNBC About CNBC: From 'Wall Street' to 'Main Street' to award winning original documentaries and Reality TV series, CNBC has you covered. Most DANGEROUS Metals in the World

11:03
So you thought using deodorant or antiperspirant was completely harmless, did ya? Did you ever stop to think exactly what kind of paint was being using on your kids toys? It’s a miracle how humans can survive on planet earth considering how many elements there are out there that are trying their best to hurt us. While many of these metals have some type of practicality, others just simply exist to bring upon destruction. Subscribe to American Eye http://goo.gl/GBphkv 5.Aluminum Aluminum seems to be making it into our food somehow and while it may be useful for manufacturing airplanes, it’s not so useful in our bellies. While small doses of this metal go relatively unnoticed , after a long time, it starts to build up into our bodies and start to cause problems. Prolonged exposure can affect the body’s musculoskeletal system, causing problems with the brain, bones, cause dementia and even seizures, according to some sources. The recent studies on aluminum are making many wonder if it’s worth wrapping up their potatoes in aluminum foil anymore. Pickles are another food that hiding this element and it’s used in the pickling process. Many people unknowingly are exposed to aluminum in our antiperspirant which has actually lead to a lot of people to stop using deodorant. There’s also some outrage about aluminum being found inside vaccines What do you guys think? Is aluminium dangerous? Let us know in the comment section 4.Cadmium This massive hole in the ground in Butte, Montana used to be a prosperous copper mine but now it’s filled with extremely toxic chemicals and you shouldn’t go in the pool here! It’s about a half mile in diameter and approximately 1,780 feet deep. Industrial chemicals such as copper, arsenic, cadmium, zinc and sulfuric acid are all found in the pit of this toxic lake. Cadmium is becoming more and more common. Placed next to silver and below zinc on the periodic table of elements, many of might have come into contact with this substance at a young age. It’s found inside old batteries, especially inside batteries used for remote control cars It was also used for orange paint in for trains, cars and even cooking ware. If mixed with sulfur it become sulphuric cadmium which is even more dangerous. This toxic mixture was still praised by artists and used in paint by artists such as van gogh and matisse. It might have even been used in your tattoos! Despite its toxicity, it’s still a very useful metal that’s used in electronics. 3.Americium A vital component of smoke detectors is the small piece of radioactive metal known as Americium-241 and its cased in aluminum. This is the only synthetic isotope to actually find its way into people’s homes. The only way it could be harmful would be if someone swallowed or inhaled it which would be sort of strange if that were to happen. Smoke detectors start off with nearly pure Americium-241 but over a course of about 30 years it’ll be reduced to a new element called neptunium which is a byproduct of nuclear reactors. Since smoke alarms save people lives there’s obvious reasons why you would want something like this to always be working! 2.Thallium Thallium is considered to be an extremely poisonous substance, so poisonous and effective, it was used in rat poisoning for quite some time. Not only is it very deadly, it’s also tasteless and odorless, gaining notoriety of being a murder weapon. Since 1972, the US has prohibited its use due to concerns about safety. It earned the nickname of the poisoners poison and inheritance powder. It’s fairly abundant and not too difficult to find in Earth’s crust as opposed to some metals on this list. It can be dangerous if you touch it and thallium exposure is regulated in some workplaces. It used to be used also for medical reasons and for the treatment of ringworm or other skin infections but in very small doses of course. Anyone who’s accidently ingest thalium must immediately take what’s known as prussian blue, which is a compound that absorbs thallium quite effectively. 1...

What are some of the mining companies to watch in 2015/2016 and beyond?

05:36
What are some of the miners to watch in 2015/2016 and beyond? Please note that that these are just ideas being shared; we simply asked the opinion of Charles GIbson; THIS IS NOT investment advice and you should seek independent advice if necessary. Charles Gibson: Head of Mining at Edison Research comments. Discuss investing in Large Caps versus investing Small Caps. I like Silver Wheaton Corp which I think has a slightly different business plan which I like. I also follow Randgold resources which is expensive but which I perceive is a good company. I like companies which had a vision and executed very well against their vision and that is worth a lot in mining companies. The smaller ones I would highlight Caledonia Mining Corp and Pan African Resources; in Southern Africa, in production, making profits and paying dividends. I think that Arian Silver is interesting which is based in Mexico and is currently moving into production. I would also Pan African which is based in Zimbabwe and as such located in a risky country. There is also Euromax Resources which is looking to develop a copper periphery in Macedonia, in the Balkans and is going thru a bankable feasibility study at the moment.

Miners Don’t Have To Fear Cannabis – IBK Capital

07:13
The mining sector’s future performance will be based on fundamentals that are independent from the cannabis or crypto markets, said Michael White, president and CEO of IBK Capital. “Mining is cyclical. We are going through a cycle. We’ve been through many years of a downturn. I believe that we are skipping along the bottom now, and we’re ready to turn. I think 2015 was the bottom, 2016 was a good year in terms of coming off that bottom. 2017 was flat, and 2018, we drifted down a little bit,” White told Kitco News on the sidelines of the Mines & Money conference in Toronto. White added that another catalyst that is needed for investor interest to return to the mining sector is the discovery of new deposits. ________________________________________________________________ Kitco News is the world’s #1 source of metals market information. Gold-Rich & High: Quartz Vein To The Sky

29:16
I struggled to come up with a descriptive title for this video. How to explain that incredible quartz vein – narrow, pure and running up so high that it went out of sight – that the gold miners chased? To me, it really did seem as if it ran to the sky… I have seen where miners have chased rich veins of quartz for impressive distances before, but I have never seen a quartz vein that was a solid slab running vertically to the heights that this one did. Another differentiating factor is that this vein must have been full of gold. One sees sections of quartz in many lode gold mines, but it is barren and so the miners leave it behind. This was different. In this mine, the miners cleared the whole vein out! Consider the – not one, but two – stamp mills outside, consider the effort the miners expended to reach that quartz vein and then to chase it up (the miners would have been drilling overhead the entire time in a space not much more than three feet wide), consider the expensive rail in this mine… The old timers were not stupid. They would not have spent that much money, they would not have done that much work and they would not have taken out that much quartz unless the gold to be found in that incredible quartz vein was worth it. And remember, that quartz vein was the only part of the mine where the miners took any ore out. Yet, they still required two stamp mills! I did not locate production numbers for this mine, but one can only imagine what was taken out. I don’t know how the miners discovered this deposit, especially as they located it before modern drilling and other technology the miners of today have at their disposal. I hiked down from the direction this mine runs and there was no sign of that quartz deposit on the surface. There were the remains of even older mining operations on the way down – the faint remains of a stamp mill, bits of metal, some surface work - and so maybe the miners had an inkling there was something below, but I don’t know what gave them the confidence to start blasting back for thousands of feet in a perfectly straight line. That was a major effort! Abandoned mining equipment is always interesting to me, but I was even more taken with the equipment at the outside of this mine as I had not heard of either of those companies – Krogh Manufacturing and Globe Iron Works – before. Usually, one will start to recognize the familiar names like Ingersoll Rand or Miners Foundry, but those names were new to me and, therefore, presumably older. The dates of the patents would seem to confirm this. The oxygen meter I was using at the time I explored this mine would alert when oxygen levels fell below 19.5%. However, it did not display what the actual percentage of oxygen was. Lower levels of oxygen are tolerable, but not MUCH lower levels. Without knowing what the actual percentage of oxygen was, I had to just judge the oxygen levels and safety by the symptoms I was experiencing. That’s pushing it a bit, but you’ve got to want it to see the treasures in life. I was alone on this trip, but with bad air it hardly matters if you are one person or a hundred. If you collapse from bad air, the guy behind you can’t grab you or he’ll succumb too. You’re done. It’s not like falling and breaking your leg or something where having someone else there will make a difference. So, it is important to pay close attention to the symptoms... With this particular oxygen meter it would stop working after alerting and being reset several times in the low O2 environment. Fortunately, the O2 meter I use now shows the exact percentage of oxygen so I can make a more informed decision on whether to proceed or not. In this mine, the low oxygen was almost certainly caused by the rotting timbers. I am glad that I didn’t turn around. ***** All of these videos are uploaded in HD, so adjust those settings to ramp up the quality! It really does make a difference. You can see the gear that I use for mine exploring here: https://bit.ly/2wqcBDD You can click here for my full playlist of abandoned mines: https://goo.gl/TEKq9L Thanks for watching! ***** Growing up in California’s “Gold Rush Country” made it easy to take all of the history around us for granted. However, abandoned mine sites have a lot working against them – nature, vandals, scrappers and various government agencies… The old prospectors and miners that used to roam our lonely mountains and toil away deep underground are disappearing quickly as well. These losses finally caught our attention and we felt compelled to make an effort to document as many of the ghost towns and abandoned mines that we could before that colorful niche of our history is gone forever. I hope you’ll join us on these adventures! #ExploringAbandonedMines #MineExploring #AbandonedMines

This “Forgotten Metal” Is About To See An Awakening

06:31
Graphite is less talked about but is just as important as lithium and cobalt as a component to the electric vehicles, this according to Ugo Landry-Tolszczuk, president of SRG Graphite Inc. “Graphite, a little bit, has been the forgotten metal. I think what we’ve seen in the lithium space, the cobalt space, I think we have yet to see in the graphite space, and I think we’re going to see it,” Landry-Tolszczuk told Kitco News on the sidelines of the Swiss Mining Institute Conference in Zurich. Landry-Tolszczuk added that in a lithium ion battery, the number one component by weight is graphite. _________________________________________________________________ Kitco News is the world’s #1 source of metals market information. In this remote town you’re either working at the uranium mines or fighting against them | Black Rock

27:05
Growing up in English River First Nation, the uranium mines were always part of Tenille Campbell's life. Even though she's lived hundreds of kilometres away from English River since she was 18, the mines have remained an important part of her story — on the day after their wedding, her ex-husband had to fly out to the mines to work for two weeks. But the mines are the only big business in the community. For Tenille, the dream of becoming a writer and photographer meant leaving her hometown for other opportunities. #CBCShortDocs #BlackRock • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • When Tenille speaks about the north, she talks about the northern lights and blueberries. The images she captures are full of beauty and laughter. When she talks about how she always imagined living her life up north, you can understand why. More than a decade after leaving home, Tenille returns an award-winning author and professional photographer. Now, she’s embarking on a new project: telling her community’s story and its complicated relationship with the uranium mines. She’s back to photograph and interview English River’s residents for her gallery show, to showcase the stories and faces of an Indigenous community caught in the boom and bust cycle of the uranium industry. English River First Nation’s history with the uranium industry has deep roots. For some, like Tom Lariviere (who has been working in the mines since the '70s), "the mines have improved the quality of living up here in the north." But not everyone agrees. English River First Nation residents Marius and Candyce Paul have spent the last two decades fighting what they call "the invasion" of the nuclear and uranium industries in the north. They've fought English River’s collaboration deal with the uranium companies, and the nuclear waste dump proposal in their community. They're concerned about the possible contamination of their lands and the possible health impacts on their people, so they've started collecting data on radioactivity in their community. They’ve also established a whistleblower’s hotline for miners to report any issues or concerns that may impact the land or the people at the mines. But in a town where the only significant source of employment is the uranium industry, fighting against it can be a lonely road. Black Rock follows Marius and Candyce Paul on their journey searching for the truth, in an attempt to protect and preserve their lands for their future generations. The film follows the intertwining stories of a remote community, exploring the complexities of being caught between putting food on the table and protecting the land that feeds you. But if you go back to 1971, since that time, on a compound annual growth rate basis, gold has returned 7.5%. It's an uncorrelated asset, not a positive relationship or a negative relationship. That means that it's giving you a level of diversification within the portfolio that few other assets can match. I'm George Milling-Stanley, head of gold strategies at State Street Global Advisors. If you can, cast your mind back to the summer of 1972. And if it helps you to picture this, I had an afro at the time. A lot of things have changed since then. I was a reporter on a magazine in London, financial magazine, and the editor came to my door, and he said, George, it's been 12 months since President Nixon closed the gold window. What do you think of that? And I looked up at him and said, I haven't the faintest idea what you're talking about. I don't know what that means. He said, good, because I don't understand it either. I just read it somewhere. But if you and I don't understand it, that means our readers don't understand it, either. Go find out about the gold market, and write me a story. And here we are, 47 years later, still chasing the same story. I've been involved in gold in a lot of different ways since then. I spent 10 years with the "Financial Times" writing about the gold mining industry. Worked for a gold mining company running something that we called gold market intelligence. Then I moved to this country to trade gold at Shearson, which gradually became Lehman Brothers. They closed down their physical commodity operations in the mid 1990s. I went to work for something called the World Gold Council, which had a promotional organization financed by the gold mining companies. So back to that area, if you like. And most of what I was doing there was advising central banks on how they managed the whole reserve portfolio, but with particular reference to the role gold can or should play in the management of reserves. And then after 15 years there, I set up my own little consultancy and thought I was gradually going to wind down until I was working three days a week, and then two days a week, and then suddenly, no days a week. But State Street at the time was my biggest client and they said, we'd like you to come on board, set up a team around the world, and transfer your knowledge to them, and work yourself out of a job in the next five to 10 years. So that's four years ago. I checked last week to make sure that the 10 year option is still. On the table. I'm having a ball. I think you really need to look at the whole portfolio. I think that's really where you start from. And I'm not suggesting anybody should have 100% of their investments in gold or even 50%. The literature, the reliable literature, the good quality stuff, suggests that any portfolio could benefit from somewhere between 2% and 10% of the total as the strategic allocation. That's a pretty broad remit, if you like. Personally, I think that 5% makes a lot of sense for me, and probably for a lot of other people, too.

Hunter Dickinson Inc. (HDI) - A Diversified Global Mining Company

02:22
http://www.hdimining.com/s/Home.asp Hunter Dickinson Inc. (HDI) is a diversified, global mining group with more than 25 years of mineral development success. From its head office in Vancouver, Canada, HDI applies its unique strengths and capabilities to acquire, develop, operate and monetize mineral properties that provide consistently superior returns to shareholders. HDI was established as an affiliation of geologists, financiers and mining professionals engaged in advancing mineral properties in western Canada for a series of public companies. Many of the company's founders are active members of the HDI Board of Directors and senior management team today. From 1985 to 1990, HDI founded three companies -- North American Metals, Continental Gold and El Condor Resources -- with projects that would go on to become major hard rock mines. These include Golden Bear (operated 1989-2001), Kemess (operated 2000-2011) and Mt. Milligan (construction commenced in 2010). A new suite of HDI-associated public companies was created in the 1990s, each of which went on to advance significant mining assets and generate superior shareholder returns. Many of these companies -- including Taseko Mines Limited, Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd. and Amarc Resources Ltd. -- are still associated with HDI today. Others that achieved mineral exploration and development success with HDI -- including Great Basin Gold Limited, Detour Gold Corporation, Rockwell Diamonds Inc. and Anooraq Resources Corporation -- are now independently managed. On January 5, 2011, Farallon Mining Ltd. was acquired by Nyrstar NV in an all cash transaction valued at C$409 million. Continental Minerals Corporation was acquired by the Jinchuan Mining Group in April 2011 in a transaction valued at C$432 million. HDI is structured as a private mining group that provides management and technical services to a diverse portfolio of high-quality and high-growth mineral companies and properties. HDI sources and acquires mineral assets with significant potential for value growth. Between 1985 and 2010, HDI companies raised more than $1.4 billion in equity financing, while providing consistently superior shareholder returns. The compounded annual growth rate for all HDI company investments over that timeframe exceeds 25%. An investment of $10,000 made in 1986 would be valued at $3,000,000 in 2010, a return of 30,000%. This far exceeds most mining industry peers and benchmark indices. HDI has the technical capabilities and management experience to consistently and rapidly advance mineral properties through exploration, development, permitting, construction and into stable and profitable mine operations. It possesses a fully integrated, multi-disciplinary team of mining professionals with global experience and a proven track record of mineral development success. HDI management and professional staff are known for their versatility, creativity and passion to find the best solution to every development challenge. HDI's unique strengths and capabilities are applied to identify, qualify and acquire mineral assets with significant potential for value growth. They are also applied to accelerate the development of every HDI company, and to monetize value in the best interests of development partners. HDI is characterized by the drive and commitment of its founders, senior management and multi-disciplinary team. It is known for its technical excellence, experience and reliability. And it is passionate about bringing Responsible Mineral Development to life in creative ways for the benefit of shareholders, partners and communities. HDI is associated with the following companies: Heatherdale Resources Ltd., Curis Resources Ltd., Northcliff Resources Ltd., Rathdowney Resources Ltd., Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd., Amarc Resources Ltd., and Quartz Mountain Resources Ltd.

How to play the gold mining sector - Brent Cook and Dominic Frisby

17:41
Subscribe to our newsletter at http://www.goldmoney.com/goldresearch. In this video podcast, Brent Cook, geologist and writer of Exploration Insights, https://www.explorationinsights.com/, and Dominic Frisby of the GoldMoney Foundation talk about the current state of the gold mining sector and how to invest in it. Cook thinks that many new investors bought junior mining stocks as a way to play the physical gold market though these are very different markets. Many companies couldn't deliver on the often too optimistic projections and the market turned down from the optimism highs of late 2010. As the few profitable, high margin companies have got trashed as well in this recent downturn, Cook believes that there are some fantastic investment opportunities right now, which could attract new money into the sector again. However one has to be very selective and patient. Both men also point out that senior mining companies are hoping for the juniors to sell off a bit further to get better acquisition deals. They talk about the shelf life of mining companies and the dilution which happens if a company is not successful. Cook emphasises that the odds of finding a successful company are very slim and that 95% of exploration companies fail. Most of the easy deposits in the world have already been exploited which makes it ever harder to keep up the yearly production levels, a point that Cook illustrates with the examples of copper and gold. He also points out that rising input costs have almost offset the surge in metal prices which is why many lower grade deposits are still not economical even though the metal prices have risen significantly in recent years. As a rule on how to treat junior mining stocks which have not performed and lost you money, Cook advises to sell, if the only thing stopping you from selling is hope. Only keep the company if they reached the promised goals. Sell the dogs and look for good companies which have been sold down together with the dogs. He also holds a cash position to be able to profit from deals which will come down the line. This video podcast was recorded on April 11 2012.

John Doody: The Falling Knife of Mining Stocks Has Hit the Floor

30:29
Full description available at: http://www.peakprosperity.com/podcast/81297/john-doody-falling-knife-mining-stocks-has-hit-floor Look across the universe of equities these days and it's hard to find a stock sector more thoroughly hated by investors than precious metals mining companies. They are supposed to act as leveraged investments on the price of the precious metals. However, on average, the sector has underperformed the price action in gold in silver over the past several years. In fact, many miners have been absolute widowmakers. On top of that, as the stock market has powered to new highs over recent months, many miners and mining indexes have sunk to multi-year lows. What gives? This week, Chris talks with mining analyst John Doody, of GoldStockAnalyst.com. They discuss the reasons why the mining sector has performed so poorly to-date (poor management, poor cost accounting, an over-focus on expansion vs ROI) and whether investors can expect more of the same, or are there better days ahead?

Most AMAZING Discoveries With A Metal Detector!

Check out the most amazing discoveries with a metal detector! This top 10 list features some of the most unique, valuable and mysterious ancient treasures found by metal detecting around the world! Roman Coins Detectorists spend most of their time searching fields and coming up empty, but occasionally they’ll find something that makes it all worthwhile. This is what happened to Dave Crisp, a hospital administrator. In 2010, he made an amazing discovery in a field near Frome, in the county of Somerset in England. Expecting to find the usual discarded metal objects, he started digging on a spot where his detector had signalled a strong reading, and to his surprise, he uncovered a large pot that contained a hoard of Roman coins. In total there were over 52,000 of them! 766 bore an image of Marcus Aurelius Carausius, who ruled over Britain between 286 and 293 AD. As the first leader to strike coins in the country, this was a particularly important find- one that was valued at over 1 million dollars. The coins were sent to the British museum where they were cleaned by archaeologists and put on display. 9. The Mojave Nugget While you may think that the gold in the California hills is long gone, this story shows that it’s still out there for those who look hard enough. In 1977, Ty Paulsen was using his metal detector in the Mojave Desert in Southern California when he discovered something people always dream of- a huge golden nugget. It turned out to be one of the largest ever found by a metal detector in the US, and weighed a massive 4.5 kg! Known as the Mojave Nugget, it was worth a whopping $200,000, and can now be seen on display at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles. Unsurprisingly, Paulsen has never revealed the exact location where found the nugget, but it’s thought to have been from the Stringer Mining District- an area that has been linked with large quantities of gold discovery over the years. Who knows, if you get out searching you might make the next big discovery there yourself! 8. Bullet in Dallas, Texas It’s not just valuable treasure in monetary terms that can be found with a metal detector, as Richard H. Lester discovered in 1974. He was in Dallas, Texas, searching for hits on Dealey Plaza when he found a bullet fragment. Now, this may not seem too out of the ordinary in the US, but this location just so happened to be about 500 yards away from the Texas School Book Depository, the location thought to have been used by Lee Harvey Oswald when he shot JFK. Lester kept the fragment for a number of years, but he handed it over to the FBI in 1976 as a part of ongoing investigations . They conducted tests on it, which they published the following year, and while the bullet had the same 4 grooves and right hand twist pattern as Oswald’s Mannlicher-Carcano, the lands were spaced further apart than they should have been- meaning it was unlikely from his gun. No-one suggested at the time that it could have been from a second gunman, but from a day out with his metal detector, Lester found himself in the middle of the greatest conspiracy ever. 7. Spanish Gold Chalice You don’t have to be an expert to make an amazing find, all you need is commitment and hard work. Mike DeMar took a job as a diver with a treasure hunting firm when he was 20 years old. Sounds like a great job! They were searching the Florida Keys for treasure from a sunken Spanish ship, the Santa Margarita, that had sunk over 400 years ago. The efforts of the company, Blue Water Ventures, had been on-going since 1980, and they had just begun looking at a new site. Within a couple of months of working there, DeMar was underwater and his metal detector pinged. He dug a bit with his hands and found what initially seemed like a piece of rock, but on closer inspection turned out to be a Golden Chalice. The ornate object, thought to be from around the time of the ship, at least 400 years old, was subsequently valued at over $1 million dollars- more than enough to warrant the rest of the day off and a toast of champagne with his new colleagues. The ship had sunk in a storm that scattered the debris in one direction, but another storm hit and scattered it all across the seabed. Following this discovery, Blue Water Ventures were confident that they’d make further finds- although as of yet they haven’t announced anything quite like the chalice. Copper Production in Chile | Made in Germany

04:42
Without copper, the economy and modern high-tech industries would come to a stand-still. Copper is used in computers, cell phones, automobiles, and nearly all electrical devices. About one-third of global copper reserves are found in Chile, making the country the world's largest exporter. Copper is a substantial contributor to Chile's economy, and the demand for the metal is on the rise. The copper mine de los Pelambres, some 250 kilometers north of Santiago, is the fifth largest in the world. The mine produces some 300,000 tons of copper each year -- using a state of the art and highly-efficient ore-grinding system from Siemens.

Top 10 Countries With The LARGEST Gold Reserves!

10:12
Check out these 10 countries with the largest gold reserves in the world! This top 10 list features some of the richest and wealthiest countries on earth that have tons of gold bars stacked up somewhere! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "SURPRISING And Interesting Facts About Money!" video here: https://youtu.be/ONpChSPqVc4 Watch our "Most AMAZING Discoveries With A Metal Detector!" video here: https://youtu.be/45JveYKafVo Watch our "Most EXPENSIVE Diamonds In The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/RcZATf3Lmb0 10.) India According to the World Gold Council, the Bank of India currently holds 557.7 tons of gold. It is one of the largest stores of gold in the world! This makes up 9.9 % of the country’s total foreign reserve. Foreign exchange reserves is money or other assets held by a nation’s central bank so they can back the national currency. India, home to 1.25 billion people, is the number one largest consumer of the precious metal. Furthermore, India is one of the most reliable drivers of global demand. For example, India’s festival and wedding season, which runs from October to December, has historically been a major market for gold. And probably, one of the most interesting facts about India and gold is that India rarely invests much in gold. This is because as a country, India operates under the belief that buying gold leads to a deficit. And their belief must be proving right as things also seem to be improving for India. For instance, if you look at the last few years, India has increased its gold reserves from 557.74 to 557.77. While this might not seem like a lot, India is also at its highest point in history! In addition to what the country holds, Indian households which are considered the world’s largest hoarders of gold, hold a record 23,000-24,000 tons, which is worth about $800 billion. 9.) Netherlands In the past few years, the Netherlands has held 52% of its foreign reserve in gold. The Netherlands has a reported 612.45 tons. In 2016 it was reported that the bank was looking for a place to store all its gold because they were going to renovate the vaults and needed to moving it. The Dutch central bank is planning to move the country’s gold reserves from the center of Amsterdam to a new complex called the Cash Center. Like most countries, Dutch gold is also held in banks around the world to reduce risk. Security measures to guard the gold 24/7 have become a problem in Amsterdam. 189,000 kilos of gold will be moved at the beginning of 2022. Maybe this is one reason that over the last decade and a half, the Netherlands was selling off tons of gold in order to reduce its reserve. However, there weren’t that many buyers out there and they sold less than the country wanted. More recently the country has had less ambition to sell gold. Currently, the country holds the same amount of tons, 612.45 that they have over the last few years. However, the country has increased its percentage of foreign reserves to 61.2 %. 8.) Japan Japan is another country which had been increasing its gold reserves since the 1960’s. Their official gold holdings were reported at 765.2 tons. About 2.4% of Japan’s gold today is in foreign reserve. Historically, Japan has always held a bit more gold than other countries. This was true until 2011, when they began to sell some of their reserve in order to pump money into the economy after the tsunami and the following Fukushima nuclear disaster. But even with selling, Japan’s central bank has been one of the most aggressive practitioners of quantitative easing. For example, in January of 2016, it lowered interest rates below zero, which has helped fuel demand in gold around the world. 7.) Switzerland Prior to 1997, Switzerland was steadily building its gold reserves. In 1997, the decision was made to sell some of those reserves to bolster the Swiss currency and diversify the foreign reserves. The percent of foreign reserves in Switzerland is currently 6.7 %. Switzerland actually has the world’s largest reserves of gold per capita and currently has reported 1,040 tons. Over time, many citizens in the country started to feel like the bank was getting rid of too much gold. They then banded together with the “Save the Swiss” movement. However, once everyone was able to vote in 2014, the vote came to a no, and gold continued to be sold. During World War II, Switzerland became the center of the gold trade in Europe, making transactions with both the Allies and Axis powers. Today, much of its gold trading is done with Hong Kong and China. Around last year, the Swiss National Bank made a $5.9 billion profit, reportedly from its gold holdings.
