Dividend Fund Showdown! (ETF vs. ETF)

08:42
#Dividends #Dividendstocks Dividend Fund Showdown! In this video I discuss two dividend exchange traded funds or "ETFs" from two different fund companies. We'll look at total return, expense ratio, yield, volatility, sector weightings, and much more. THE VALUE LINE® DIVIDEND INDEX METHODOLOGY The Value Line® Dividend Index is an equal-dollar weighted index comprised of U.S. exchange-listed securities. The index methodology is focused on quality companies that have an above-average dividend yield. Value Line tracks 1700 stocks from 100 industries. Registered investment companies, limited partnerships and foreign securities not listed in the U.S. are excluded. The universe is screened to eliminate any stock that fails to achieve a 1 or 2 rank by Value Line’s “Safety” ranking system on a scale of 1 (highest score) to 5 (lowest score). Included in Value Line’s proprietary Safety ranking system is an evaluation of a stock’s volatility over the previous five years, as well as its “Financial Strength” rating, which is Value Line’s measure of a company’s financial condition. Financial strength is determined by a variety of factors including a company’s debt to capital ratio, amount of cash on hand, level and consistency of sales and profits, returns on capital, as well as a company’s position and performance within an industry. Select stocks with an indicated dividend yield greater than that of the Standard & Poor’s 500 Composite Stock Price Index and a market cap of $1 billion or more. The index is equally weighted to eliminate single stock risk and the process is repeated monthly. - Ftportfolios.com Buy dividend stocks commission free and receive a cash bonus: https://mbsy.co/qgvmm Connect with me on Instagram: @kennyrrobinson Mailing Address: P.O. Dividend Stocks Vs. Dividend ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds)

15:33
You like dividend checks. However, you are unsure whether you should pursue individual dividend-paying stocks or dividend-focused ETFs (exchange traded funds). Today's video, a response to a subscriber question, compares and contrasts individual dividend growth stocks versus dividend mutual funds (ETFs), through my personal lens. While I cannot answer this question for others, I can share my personal pros and cons when I compare the two, and how I decided to proceed in my personal stock portfolio. Specifically, I cover: * Two specific ETF (exchange traded fund) examples from a major ETF mutual fund family. * Why starting yields may be a bit too low with ETFs. * Why I love the control that individual, dividend stocks offer. (And, their lack of ongoing fees is nice too.) * How one can derive more value (when stocks are "on sale") via individual stocks versus mutual funds (which offer a basket of stocks). This is a critical point. The stock market, in my opinion, is not efficient. By holding individual dividend stocks, I get to buy bargains all the time. * When ETFs and mutual funds may make sense (namely retirement accounts where individual stocks are not an option, or those that have smaller portfolios without the prospect of large-scale growth). * How I hope and dream that everyone watching has a million dollar (or more) dividend stock portfolio, one that pays massive cash flow. Today's video is a bit contrarian, and that's ok. My goal is one of early financial freedom and massive passive income. Since my goals are a bit unconventional, my personal finance strategy has been a bit unconventional too. ETF Options Trading

04:11
http://www.options-trading-education.com/7114/etf-options-trading/ ETF Options Trading A common means to trading options on the state of the economy or on a given market sector is ETF options trading. An ETF is an exchange traded fund. These funds give traders a product that accurately tracks collections of stocks as big as the S&P 500 or specific sectors such as energy, oil, pharmaceuticals, and more. The fund buys and sells shares in order to retain its character as an accurate reflection of the value of the index or market sector that it attempts to track. ETFs are common investment and trading vehicles because of their low costs and the ability to trade their shares like stocks. ETF shares are traded on a large scale by so-called authorized participants, large brokers and dealers, under agreements with the ETF distributor. Smaller lots are traded on a secondary market. As with trading common stocks, ETF options trading uses calls and puts to stake out positions during the length of an options contract. Calls on the US Economy in ETF Options Trading If your belief is that the economy will improve and that the stock market in general will go up, you can buy calls in ETF options trading. Pick an ETF that tracks the broader market. Buying a call contract gives the trader the right to purchase the ETF shares in question at the contract price, known as the strike price. He or she can do this throughout the duration of the contract period when trading American style options. When trading European style options the trader can only execute the contract at the end of the contract period. However, in each case when trading ETF options the trader can exit the contract by executing the opposite trade on the same ETF with the same expiration date. If the market and ETF shares go up as anticipated, the trader profits in ETF options trading. At no time in ETF options trading is the buyer of a call contract obligated to purchase and will do so only if conditions warrant. Puts on the Oil Sector If a trader believes that stock prices will fall in tech stocks, pharmaceuticals, banking, or the oil sector he or she can pick an ETF that trades on a collection of stocks in the sector in question. Buying a put gives the trader the right to sell the ETF shares in question at a set price no matter how low that price might fall. This right is good throughout the contract period. As with calls, a trader can exit the contract prior to expiration by executing the opposite trade on the same ETF option with the same expiration date. And, as with calls, the trader is not obligated to sell and will not do so unless it leads to a profit. ETF Options Trading Strategies The same basic options strategies apply to ETF options trading as to trading options on individual stocks, commodity futures contracts, or foreign currencies. It is essential to have a clear idea of the fundamentals that drive the market and an accurate current assessment of market sentiment which tends to drive prices when the market is unsettled. http://youtu.be/KvluwiWQsbA

Why AMD Stock Is Going Up 🚀 (AMD Analysis 2019)

06:54
AMD stock is going up by almost 12% today, and investors are wondering why is AMD Stock going up? Is AMD Stock a Buy? In this AMD Stock Analysis 2019 video we go over some HUGE news around AMD and Google (GOOGL Stock) today, and if you're an AMD investor or considering investing in AMD, you want to watch this video. Google Stock announced today that they are launching this new cloud gaming platform that runs on Google Cloud called Stadia and it is powered by custom GPUs from AMD - meaning a HUGE win for AMD here in the data center segment. And there's been a lot of talk around Stadia and how it could change the future of gaming, and guess what, if this becomes as successful as predicted. Of course GOOGL will benefit, but AMD will also benefit as Google continues to expand their data centers to cater to the demand. Stadia will allow users to stream games on a wide variety of devices - with the games themselves running on servers in Google's data centers. The idea is to make graphically intensive games playable without expensive hardware like game consoles or high-end PC components. So the goal is to allow anyone without a high end "Gaming PC" to be able to play the latest and greatest games, removing the hardware bottleneck. But indirectly, hardware is still very crucial here but the market has just shifted. Instead of consumers purchasing high end PC components, these Data Centers, powered by AMD, will have all that horsepower to run any game imaginable. And this of course will be an ongoing revenue stream for AMD because as games in the future become even more graphic intensive, maybe 8K, DC's will need to upgrade their chips to keep up with the performance requirements from these games, and if AMD maintains a good relationship they will be the ones that GOOGL will keep buying from. Now if you're a gamer or you invest in Sony or Microsoft, you may be wondering how these new chips from AMD compare to the chips in those consoles. Well this custom GPU is based on AMD's Vega architecture and provides 10.7 teraflops of raw computing power vs 4.2 teraflops for the PS4 Pro and 6.0 teraflops for the Xbox One X. But the ironic thing is AMD also powers both those consoles - it's just that these new chip is much more advanced than the ones in the consoles and they can do this because companies, like GOOGL, will pay a premium for the highest end performance but consumers may not - but like I said, this issue will not matter in the future if Stadia becomes the way consumers play games. That being said there, there's still information we don't know about Stadia - like a release date or pricing - so there's a lot more to come from here I'm sure. Now that you understand the VALUE of this announcement, you can start to see the potential AMD has here moving forward. Cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, AltCoin, Ethereum, Ripple, and more helped AMD in 2017 and a bit in 2018, but now just like NVDA, they need to rely on DC and Graphics chips to maintain their profits. AMD has been the underdog in the graphics space, and the DC space, but this deal puts them on the radar for NVDA to seriously consider them as a threat. Other manufacturers like Microsoft and Sony may follow suit and build out their own cloud gaming networks to compete with Stadia. And if that happens to this scale, AMD could one again benefit from those details. The current valuation is very worrying. AMD is at a PE of 72, vs it's competitor NVDA Stock who sits at around 28. AMD also does have an "OK" balance sheet, no where near as good as NVDA's. But when we look at it's cash and cash equivs vs the debt load, we actually end up with more debt than cash by $36M. Not a huge deal, but it does mean they don't have as much money to spend on acquisitions/innovation as NVDA. NVDA recently said they were purchasing Mellanox, which is another DC company, for $6.8B. NVDA may partner with a competitor to Google to launch a competitor to Stadia. #AMD #GOOGL #Stadia #PositiveInvesting 🔴 *VIP Membership Group* 🔴 View my portfolio & every single trade I make! Perspective On Nifty | Nifty Charts Structurally Shaping Up | Edelweiss Wealth Management

02:33
In today’s video we will focus on how Nifty’s chart structurally shaping up and what may support its future move! On the weekly chart, Nifty has broken out of a congestion zone; and RSI has jumped from its support line. A bullish behaviour is also visible on the Point and Fig chart. Learn more about the technical analysis of nifty charts - https://bit.ly/2Olm2vk Last year on the Nifty Daily Chart we had seen a similar structure - two months consolidation, then an upside break, retest of the area followed by up move or trend extension. This suggests the ongoing move can help the Index scale a new high. The historical reading & comparisons of the Fear and Greed chart display the two facts: Bull markets stays above the neutral or sentiment switcher mark and it has not touched the extreme greed area despite weak behaviour in broader markets. This indicates chances of uptrend extension. RRG - Relative Rotation graph suggests that since January, as market entered correction mode, FMCG and IT indices have outperformed. Pharma Index has entered the improving quadrant. Mid cap and Small cap - Meanwhile price-RSI divergence on Small and Mid-cap Index charts suggests signs of recovery or relief rally. This is likely to boost the sentiments in near term. Nifty Open Interest Structure - Options Data is still strongly in favour of bullish structure. Also the worrying factors have started to get fade, as Crude is hinting towards more decline, VIX remained at lows and FIIs have turned positive on Index futures. In conclusion, these factors are in favour of a bullish side and indicating that Index to witness extension in up move. While recovery indication in small, mid cap index suggests that fundamentally sound counters, which have corrected notably can be looked at from investment perspective. Dissecting Leveraged ETF Returns

07:11
https://goo.gl/QPCkqk - Start earning with binary options like millions of traders do Leveraged exchange-traded funds are a relatively new product to investors, but they could be the ticket investors need to bring in increased returns. These funds are designed to deliver a greater return than through holding regular long or short positions. In this article we explain what leveraged ETFs are and how they work in both good and bad market conditions. About Leveraged ETFs Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are traded on a stock exchange. They allow individual investors to benefit from economies of scale by spreading administration and transaction costs over a large number of investors. Leveraged funds have been available since at least the early 1990s. The first leveraged ETFs were introduced in the summer of 2006, after being reviewed for almost three years by the Securities And Exchange Commission (SEC). Leveraged ETFs mirror an index fund, but they use borrowed capital in addition to investor equity to provide a higher level of investment exposure. Typically, a leveraged ETF will maintain a $2 exposure to the index for every $1 of investor capital. The fund's goal is to have future appreciation of the investments made with the borrowed capital to exceed the cost of the capital itself. Maintaining Asset Value The first investment funds that were listed on stock exchanges were called closed-end funds. Their problem was that pricing of the fund's shares was set by supply and demand, and would often deviate from the value of the assets in the fund, or net asset value (NAV). This unpredictable pricing confused and deterred many would-be investors. ETFs solved this problem by allowing management to create and redeem shares as needed. This made the fund open-ended rather than closed-ended, and created an arbitrage opportunity for management that helps keep share prices in line with the underlying NAV. Because of this, even ETFs with very limited trading volume have share prices that are almost identical to their NAVs. Note: ETFs are almost always fully invested; the constant creation and redemption of shares does have the potential to increase transaction costs because the fund must resize its investment portfolio. These transaction costs are borne by all investors in the fund. Index Exposure Leveraged ETFs respond to share creation and redemption by increasing or reducing their exposure to the underlying index using derivatives. The derivatives most commonly used are index futures, equity swaps and index options. The typical holdings of a leveraged index fund would be a large amount of cash invested in short-term securities, and a smaller but highly volatile portfolio of derivatives. The cash is used to meet any financial obligations that arise from losses on the derivatives. There are also inverse-leveraged ETFs that sell the same derivatives short. These funds profit when the index declines and take losses when the index rises. Daily Rebalancing Maintaining a constant leverage ratio, typically two-times the amount, is complex. Fluc

Chuck Hughes: The Optioneering Dividend Strategy

20:05
In this video, the Hughes Optioneering Team will explore their stock dividend strategy. Low volatility dividend stocks can produce returns that far exceed the returns of most growth stocks and market sectors with less risk. The price chart below displays the price movement for NiSource, a gas utility company. NiSource has a long history of increasing their dividend payout. Dividend growth is a reliable forecaster of future earnings growth and the financial health of a company. NiSource has produced a 253% return over the past 10years far exceeding the 94% return for the S&P 500 Index over the same time period. This profit out performance for NiSource was achieved with a lot less risk and volatility. In this video, we will also explore an option strategy that allows us to purchase ‘insurance’ protection for our stock. This technique works especially well with dividend paying stocks as the dividend can pay for the cost of most of the insurance protection.

Three Reasons to Pay Attention to the VIX Index

05:03
http://profitabletradingtips.com/profitable-trading-tips/three-reasons-to-pay-attention-to-the-vix-index Three Reasons to Pay Attention to the VIX Index By www.ProfitableTradingTips.com A useful trading tool is the VIX index. This is a predictor of future market volatility. There are three reasons to pay attention to the VIX index but first of all just what is the VIX index just what are its components? VIX Index According to the Chicago Board Options Exchange, CBOE, the CBOE Volatility Index is a key measure of market expectations of near-term volatility conveyed by S&P 500 stock index option prices. Since its introduction in 1993, VIX has been considered by many to be the world's premier barometer of investor sentiment and market volatility. For investors who wish to trade an instrument related to the market's expectation of future volatility, VIX futures were introduced in 2004, and VIX options were introduced in 2006. In other words you can use the VIX as in indicator of future market activity or you can trade the VIX itself. The VIX is quoted in percentage points. It translates more or less to the expected movement in the S&P 500 index over the coming month. The number is annualized. VIX is a registered trademark of the CBOE. How to Use the VIX The VIX index gives traders a heads up for coming market activity. As a weighted mix of prices for a range of options on the S&P 500 index the VIX is an indication of what options traders think about the US economy. Thus the first of our three reasons to pay attention to the VIX index is that it is a harbinger of things to come in the broad US stock market. Traders use this information just like they use any other fundamental and technical data to help predict future stock prices. Because the VIX index and S&P 500 move in opposite directions our second of three reasons to pay attention to the VIX index is that it can be a good indicator of where a S&P 500 ETF is going next. Though VIX is frequently used as a measure of investor fear (or complacency), that is really not what it measures, as consensus optimism or pessimism would not result in an especially high VIX. Accordingly, it should probably be better thought of as the "uncertainty index" (though it is fair to admit that there is a strong link between fear and uncertainty on the Street). Nevertheless, there is a negative correlation between the VIX and S&P 500 Index (meaning that they move in opposite directions). An article in Investopedia talks about using the VIX for profit and hedging. Although the relationship of VIX to S&P 500 is not a one to one correlation the VIX is still a good predictor of the short term direction of the S&P 500 and therefore the US economy. Using the VIX for Trend Trading The trend trading definition in Investopedia is as follows: A trading strategy that attempts to capture gains through the analysis of an asset's momentum in a particular direction. The trend trader enters into a long position when a stock is trending upward (successively higher highs). Conversely, a short position is taken when the stock is in a down trend (successively lower highs). Our third of three reasons to pay attention to the VIX index is that it can provide good information as to when to get in and get out of a trade when trend trading. http://youtu.be/TyZfxZbi5nc

How to Trade Index Options Part 1

04:04
http://www.StockMarketFunding.com How to Trade Index Options Part 1. Learn "how to trade index options" like a pro using the SMF Options Trading System designed by 30 year trader & CEO of StockMarketFunding.com Mario Marciano. "Trading stock options" can be difficult for most retail & professional investors because they tend to pay up on contracts at the worst possible time. Our "options trading system" is different than what you'll find at standard "Day Trading Educaiton" firms and other "options pricing" models like "Black Scholes". We went hunting over the weekend and found some deflated put options opportunities in the March contracts. Most retail options trading platforms and brokerage houses price options based on the last print. As you can see on these live options trades, we were able to get markdowns on these options anywhere from $89 to $300 off the prior prints. Free ETF Trading Strategy

13:04
A very successful strategy I have used for many years is to take advantage of the free trades most discount brokerages provide on select ETF investments. There are several brokerages that compete in this area and I subscribe to a few of them (I have 260 individual Free ETFs at last count). Free trades make this possible, you can buy and sell a single share and earn a fraction of profit of the realized gains- you would never be able to do this if you were paying commissions on the trades. As you know, I’m quite comfortable with the security of these investments (see Dollar Cost Average) and there is a lot of allocation strategy similar to the Waterline Strategy. First, I calculate a contribution amount that I can sustain over the course of time, similar to the way you would contribute to a mutual fund or strategy or retirement plan. This capital is allocated to a cash position. This cash position is then used to create a differential amount. The default differential is “+1”, meaning every period I will buy 1 more ETF than I sell. The prices vary substantially between the ETFs, from hundreds of dollars for a single share to less than $10, but as long as the share count is consistently increasing, I feel like the strategy is more than sustainable in the long run. Managing Investment Cash Flow Second, I review the current positions, I will buy shares of the most beleaguered shares if they are less than 5% of the market price (this is only for rescue and not contributing to low-volatility/stable value investments). Buy purchasing more, I’m improving my average cost (see Non-retirement allocation) and with ETFs, they always come back up in value and make you look like a genius. Third, I take all available ETFs and line them up in my momentum rank, and flag the bottom 20%. I do not reward volatility when ranking momentum. Fourth, I contribute to only 3% of the funds. This keeps me buying more shares of a few rather than a few shares of many. It also reduces my keystrokes. I’m doing it to the top momentum shares, with all of the flagged shares from the past 5 period removed. I also examine the sectors to make sure I’m diversified. If the market is down, all of the bonds will flood the top (because everything else is negative), so I will limit my bond investments. If a sector or country is hot, I will limit my exposure to such investments, taking the best and moving the rest out, replacing them with next in line of a different sector. Fifth, I will flag all of the shares bought to make sure they are recorded in a schedule to prevent wash sales and other fees. If a share is sold within 30 days of being purchased, it is a wash sale and in some cases a brokerage can then charge commission on the trade. Sixth, I will flag all of the shares that are underwater, I only want to sell shares that include realizing gains (not losses). Because I am only selling a portion of my position, I’m not guaranteed that my costs will be covered in the share price, but I just want it to be close. Seventh, I will flip the momentum ranking and sell off the shares from the bottom of the rank. They must be held for 30 days and be in positive territory. Of these, I will sell the squared root of the position. I had some trouble in determining how much to sell of what was being triggered, I needed a formula, and the squared root works perfect because it works great with low numbers (such as 1) and it is consistent with high numbers. Then I will sell only as many as my differential permits. If I’m buying 30 shares and my cash threshold supports a +1 differential, I will sell 29 shares. If my cash account is large, my differential will grow to accommodate this, +2 or +3 will quickly erode cash. If my cash account is low, my differential will fall to +1 or even zero. I will keep the differential at zero because zero is still sustainably generating profits. If the market is bad and there is not enough positions to sell, I will simply scale back on the number of shares being purchased. By being consistent with the differential, you can control your cash very well and sustain the strategy indefinitely. If there are no positions to sell, I will humbly buy my contribution amount. This is much less than the amount determined by my cash flow, but it will keep my strategy moving forward during this dark period. If I am optimistic, I will buy more depending on the amount of cash in the account, as these are unique and special times with generally a lot of opportunity. In my experience, the purchases made during these periods often turn-out wonderfully. The yields will vary dramatically as you are selling shares from all over the place, but the revenue is consistent and the different asset classes play very well off of each other in various market conditions.

These investors may be retail or institutional in nature. Mutual funds have advantages and disadvantages compared to direct investing in individual securities. The primary advantages of mutual funds are that they provide economies of scale, a higher level of diversification, they provide liquidity, and they are managed by professional investors. On the negative side, investors in a mutual fund must pay various fees and expenses. Primary structures of mutual funds include open-end funds, unit investment trusts, and closed-end funds. Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are open-end funds or unit investment trusts that trade on an exchange. Mutual funds are also classified by their principal investments as money market funds, bond or fixed income funds, stock or equity funds, hybrid funds or other. Funds may also be categorized as index funds, which are passively managed funds that match the performance of an index, or actively managed funds. Hedge funds are not mutual funds; hedge funds cannot be sold to the general public and are subject to different government regulations. 08:34
http://www.StockMarketFunding.com Options Trading Strategies for Weekly Options Expiration Live Opening Bell. Trading Analysis & Trend Trading Commentary on trading Google, Apple, Priceline.com on the open. Watch all the live options orders and trades. We'll be looking to scale the lower price levels on the $630 for a pop on Google. These contracts went from the low of $1.40 back up to $4.60. "The stock market" posted these games as "big money" moved into the markets and "stocks trading" was off to the races. We teach our students "how to trade" the tape and what will happen with specific high-beta equity stocks. Our "day trading strategy" is on an intraday level. Most "day trading" firm will end up trying to short these moves all day and will continued to get stopped out. Watch this live video and "stock chart" analysis. Our "stock charts" come directly from our "Online Trading Platform" we've developed with our formulas and "stock analysis". We specialize in "stock chart reading" and we hope you enjoy this trading video on this "day trading setup". Most "day trading strategies" do not take into consideration the mathematical trading ranges we've developed in our "stock chart analysis" and futures trading. When it comes to "day trading stocks" and "online trading" you need to specific instructions on when to get in and out. Volatility has returned to the stock market and "stock trading" volumes are starting to increase. Retail traders need to be careful "trading stocks" as these markets are out to suck all the money in at the high end. We hope you enjoy this "trading video" and please subscribe to our channel to get the latest "trading videos" daily. Watch our special analysis on "S&P 500" "dow jones" index indices.
