Cinnamon is a spice that is made from the inner bark of trees called Cinnamomum. It has been used as an ingredient throughout history, dating back as far as Ancient Egypt. It used to be rare and valuable, and was regarded as a gift fit for kings. Cinnamon is made by cutting the stems of the cinnamomum tree. The inner bark is then extracted and the woody parts removed from it. When it dries, it forms strips that curl into rolls, called cinnamon sticks. The sticks can be ground to form cinnamon powder. Here are 6 reasons you should add half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon to your tea or coffee. Dr. Dan Engle, MD explains the benefits and differences of Himalayan Salt to regular table salt. ► Shop Onnit Himalayan Salt: http://bit.ly/2ATaCfE ► Learn More About Onnit: http://bit.ly/2Kz6C3x ► Shop Onnit Supplements: http://bit.ly/2KyBSQi There is an old expression "worth ones salt" which has its root in ancient Roman linguistics. Soldiers then were paid a 'Salarium' which was an allowance for the purchase of salt, and in fact the roman word for soldier literally translates to 'one who is paid in salt.' In those days salt was a rare and valuable commodity. Why? Naturally acquired Pink Himalayan salt is packed with 84 essential trace minerals and electrolytes and plays a valuable role in the regulation of myriad bodily processes. However, after the invention of artificially produced sodium chloride (table salt), the overuse and abundance of this type of salt — which is completely devoid of trace minerals — gave salt a bad name. In fact, after the invention and proliferation of this type of artificial salt, doctors started noticing health conditions among the population that were related to lack of mineral intake, so they decided to insert iodine back into this artificial salt. That is where we get 'iodized salt.' But even with the added iodine, table salt does not come anywhere near the mineral packed powerhouse that mother nature created. When it comes to naturally acquired salt, there is no finer specimen than Pink Himalayan Salt. The pink color is actually indicative of the presence of valuable trace minerals, and the taste is unlike anything you would find in your local diner salt shaker. It hits the palate with a smoother flavor, the difference between a fine scotch and rubbing alcohol. Pink Himalayan Salt does not have that harsh, stinging bite which allows you to utilize it much more effectively as both a spice and to supplement food. There is perhaps no simpler way to get the 84 trace minerals valuable to the body that mother nature has produced than to include real pink himalayan salt in your diet. The salt deposits from which our Kosher Pink Himalayan Salt is mined are roughly 250 million years old, meaning they were deposited long before the earth became polluted with heavy metals, pesticides, or PCBs. While there is really no such thing as "organic" salt, this is probably the most pristine salt you'll find anywhere on the planet. Eating this salt is a lot like going back in time and consuming minerals from pre-industrial Earth. Once you try it, you will never go back. | Total Human Optimization | ► Onnit Foods: http://bit.ly/2KyC0zg ► Onnit Training Equipment: http://bit.ly/2KyBS2K ► Onnit Apparel: http://bit.ly/2vFGzCw ► Onnit Academy: http://bit.ly/2MthphO #Salt #Diet #Nutrition #HimalayanSalt #JoeRogan #Health #Fitness #Training #GetOnnit #Onnit ============================================= | Connect with Onnit | ► Facebook: http://bit.ly/2AlepCz ► Instagram: http://bit.ly/2AaBcR9 ► Twitter: http://bit.ly/2AaB5Fd ► Pinterest: http://bit.ly/2A92xTM ► Google+: http://bit.ly/2Ac8Ypa Our mission is to inspire peak performance through a combination of unique products and actionable information. SUBSCRIBE!: http://bit.ly/1G97GmA SHARE THIS VIDEO: https://youtu.be/dySoNCzsX5Q This question came in from my Nickipedia email [email protected], Willette Lewis asked the below Do the Himalayan salt lamps help you sleep and help with the air or did I just buy some really good cooking salt? Here’s what I found. Himalayan salt lamps are very interesting, first off there are in fact no salt mines in the Himalayas, which should give you an indication on how these giant salt chunks are more marketing than science. Most of the salt rocks are coming from Poland, Pakastian and India at least 190 miles from the actual Himalayas. This particular salt is made from 98% sodium chloride (or table salt) and 2 % other minerals with one of them being Iron Oxide (fancy word rust) which gives it the really cool pink color. After researching online I found that there are a ton of claims about Himalayan salt lamps. Some of these include 1) Neutralizing electromagnetic radiation 2) Purifying the air 3) Increasing energy levels 4) Helping you sleep better 5) Reducing stress 6) Doing your taxes The majority of these claims are rooted in positive and negative ions…so I shall explain The idea is that positive ions from electromagnetic radiation, which come from things, like your cell phone, TV, thunderstorms and cosmic waves from outer space are causing your body harm. In order to stop this harm we must neutralize the positive ions with negative ions, just like how antioxidants neutralize free radicals. Salt lamps are claiming to emit negative ions one a heat source like a light bulb is applied, however there is no empirical, statistical or scientific proof this is happening…at all. Also, to truly neutralize positive ion being emitted from electromagnetic radiation we would have to wrap ourselves a thick layer lead, like chainmail armor made of lead… which would be uncomfortable and probably end up causing lead poisoning. So that’s a no-go. The negative ion emission is also why salt lamps claim to increase energy levels, help you sleep better and reduce stress, but since they don’t emit negative ions, well these claims don’t add up to much. The other claim is that the salt lamps are purifying the air, which is said to be done through hygroscopy. This is a fancy word for “absorbing moisture”. The idea is that action of absorbing water molecules with contaminants inside of them will purify the air. While salt does have hygroscopic properties so does sugar, cotton, caramel, honey, sulfuric acid, ethanol (vodka), and…regular old table salt. So would it be fair to say your cotton shirt or salt lick for deer chilling on your coffee table is providing the same benefit? Adding to this there is no scientific data or evidence that a huge chunk of rock salt is particularly good at using hygroscopic properties to filter the air. Under the same justification methodology your couch is pulling the equivalent contaminated moisture out of the air… but moisture in the air isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. This is in fact why we install humidifiers during the cold and dry months. An article from the Mayo Clinic states :Increased humidity may ease breathing in children and adults who have asthma or allergies, especially during a respiratory infection such as a cold But don’t toss your pink table salt lamp quite yet! Research published in the journal of consumer psychology states that the intensity of light is directly related to degree of a person’s emotional response. What this means is that if your salt lamp is providing a warm soft glow this type of light can reduce the intensity of high stress emotions leading to a feeling of relaxation and calm. On the way up the canyon to the Defense Mine, one passes by the small Lead Mine. This was probably a one or two-man operation back in the day. The adit is collapsed. Directly in front of the adit is a steeply inclined shaft. It looked too unstable to enter. The ore bin still stands on the edge of the wash. The miner's cabin collapsed a long time ago. I found a heavy, large coffee pot laying on the ground nearby.

This week Reactions is shining light on why a small town in PA, Centralia, has been on fire for over 50 years. It's because of science. Well, chemistry, technically. In 1962, an underground fire started in the coal-mining town of Centralia, Pennsylvania. Fifty-three years later, that fire still burns. In this week’s episode of Reactions, we explain the history and science behind the Centralia mine fire. Does anyone still live there? How could the fire keep burning for so long, and why hasn’t it been extinguished? From a chemical standpoint, what is fire, anyway? India is hungry for energy. Over 173 power plants, all of them coal-fired, will be built to power the nation's high-tech industries and booming cities. This is accelerating an ongoing “coal rush” which has put our dirtiest fossil fuel at the heart of India’s breakneck growth, and could soon make a single state, Andhra Pradesh, one of the world’s top 20 carbon emitters. But not everyone is convinced that this boom is a blessing. Physicist and businessman, Asoke Agarwal believes that India is heading for disaster: "It is time that we think of a more austere way of living. That was what India was famous for earlier. Today we have just aped the West. The West has gone at a speed at which they are destroying themselves, and we are following them. So it is high time that we realise that there is something drastically wrong with our economy." On 101 East, filmmaker Orlando de Guzman takes a dark journey through the coal belt of Jharkhand and West Bengal, to look at the winners and losers of this booming industry. Over the past decade, open-pit mining in Latin America has grabbed many headlines for all the wrong reasons: environmental destruction, poisoned drinking water, corruption, and repression of environmental and human rights activists. The small town of Corpus in the highlands of southern Honduras presents a twist on this all-too-common story. The Clavo Rico open-pit gold mine, owned by US-based Reznor Resources, has ushered in the arrival of over a hundred small-scale open pit mines run by local businessmen. These small mines are spreading like cancer, destroying land and water and eradicating the livelihoods of surrounding communities. This process is not only cool to look at, but it also is really useful to extract gold from ore. The gold-mercury amalgam can then be isolated and the mercury is boiled off or removed chemically. This leaves behind relatively pure gold. Outro music: https://soundcloud.com/sorrysines

Himalayan salt - Mined from deep in the Himalayan mountain range that borders India and Pakistan this ancient salt contains 84 essential minerals found throughout the human body. By mixing Himalayan salt with spring water you can create an amazing natural health drink that helps to balance the inner workings of your body. Transcription: "70% of our planet is covered by oceans a combination of water and 3% salt. The ancient Celtics referred to the oceans as sole synonymous with 'soul' as they thought all life arose from the sea, the soul of the earth. The salt from this primal sea became the standard of wealth and power, kingdoms rose and fell in the pursuit of its position and generations of men have credited it with abilities far beyond its price." "Himalayan crystal salt is comprised of about 84 or so minerals all of which are healthy and necessary for functions of the body. They increase longevity and actively protect neural health. As well as this they help to boost your cardiovascular system, feed your adrenal glands and balance your hormonal system. To be able to recognize the value to true traditional salt as it's mined from the earth as supposed to how its synthesized in the lab, we know consistently that minerals are necessary for the body and to be able to bring in something like a really safe known form of salt is actually important component of your health." One of the things that we try to do is give as much life giving force to the food as possible, and that's true not only with the base ingredients of the produce and the fruits but also the condiments we add the Himalayan crystal salt gives life force with it, its in tacked its not been processed and its come from one of the purist regions of the planet, the Himalayan mountain range. It's full of life-force, full of information and full of energy. The original Himalayan crystal salts are defiantly a quantum leap into the world of wellness bioenergetic fields of health. Today I'm going to share with you practice the I have been doing for years and has help me immeasurably, for me it replaces coffee in the mornings and it makes me feel so much better. The practice is drinking something called sole which is a salt water solution I use pink Himalayan crystal salt but you could also use Celtic sea salt. I love what they say about sole in the book water and salt the essence of life. The blend of water and salt the so called 'Sole' is the mother soup of all life forms and a physical representation of pure sun and light energy. The word sole is derived from the Latin word for sun 'soule' and it the liquid materialization of sunlight. Sole means liquid sunlight or liquid light energy. "I love that." This book also talks about the spiritual benefits of sole which I personally find very interesting, but for now I'm just going to talk to you about the physical benefits. Unlike tables that raised your blood pressure, Himalayan crystal sole will help to regulate your blood pressure within 15 minuets of taking it, its amazing. I used to have low blood pressure and its completely stabilized after taking sole. What most people don't realize is that the lack of real alkalizing salt in the body can have real negative effects. Because the sole gives the sole also gives the body the right salt concentration it can significantly help to reduce the chances of heart disease. And it helps to cleanse the body naturally and keep your skin hydrated. There have even been some studies showing that sole can help people with drug addiction and withdrawal symptoms. So let me show you how to prepare the sole it's so easy, all your going to do is take a few Himalayan crystal stones and put them in a glass jar like this and then add some high quality artesian and spring water until its about full and let it sit over night. The next morning you want to check to see if the salt stones have dissolved and if they have dissolved you want to add some more stones. You always want to make sure you can see some stones in the jar, that's how you know it's at the perfect 26% solution. Each morning before eating or drinking any thing, just take one teaspoon of the sole In a glass of water and drink it. I sometimes like to use warm water and mix it with a little cool so my body gets a little warm water in the morning. You body is going to take in the energetic vibration pattern of the sole and keep it for 24 hours. You want to keep your container covered just to prevent any water from evaporating other that that there is no special storage requirements this will keep forever and it will never go bad. That's it!

I invented the Bow Blower, a combination of the bow drill and forge blower to make a device that can force air into a fire while being easy to construct from commonly occurring natural materials using only primitive technology. I began by fanning a fire with a piece of bark to increase its temperature. It is this basic principle I improved on throughout the project. Next, I made a rotary fan from two pieces of bark that slot together at right angles to each other to form a simple 4 bladed paddle wheel about 20 cm in diameter and 5 cm tall. The blades of the fan were not angled and were designed only to throw air outwards away from the axle when spun. The rotor of the fan was made by splitting a stick two ways so it formed 4 prongs. The fan was then inserted into the prongs and the end lashed to hold it in place. Spinning the fan rotor back and forth between the palms of the hands fanned the fire. But only some of the wind generated by the fan reached the fire. The rest of it was blowing in other directions, effectively being wasted. So I built a fan housing from unfired clay to direct the air flow into the fire. This was basically an upturned pot with a hole in the top, a spout coming out of the side. The housing was about 25 cm wide and 8 cm tall. The hole in the top and the spout were both about 6 cm in diameter so that the air coming in roughly equalled the air coming out. The base of the fan rotor sat in a wooden socket placed in the ground to make it spin easier and the top of the rotor protruded from the hole in the top of the housing. Now when the fan spun, air entered the hole in the top of the housing and exited the spout in the side. Importantly, it doesn’t matter which way the fan spins, air always goes into the inlet and out the spout. Air is thrown out towards the walls of the housing and can only leave through the spout while the vacuum in the centre sucks new air into the housing through the inlet. A separate clay pipe called a tuyere was made to fit over the spout to direct air into the coals. This was done because the pipe that touches the fire can melt away so it’s better to make this part replaceable. Instead of making a large wheel and belt assembly to step up the speed of rotation, I opted for a 75 cm long bow. I made a frame to hold the rotor in place consisting of two stakes hammered into the ground with a socketed cross bar lashed on to hold the top of the rotor. I made bark fibre cordage and tied the end to a stick. I then looped the cord around the rotor and held the other end in the same hand holding the stick. I then pushed and pulled the bow causing the rotor to spin rapidly, forcing air into the fire. I made a simple mud furnace for the blower. Then I collected orange iron bacteria from the creek (iron oxide), mixed it with charcoal powder (carbon to reduce oxide to metal) and wood ash (flux to lower the melting point) and formed it into a cylindrical brick. I filled the furnace with charcoal, put the ore brick in and commenced firing. The ore brick melted and produced slag with tiny, 1mm sized specs of iron through it. My intent was not so much to make iron but to show that the furnace can reach a fairly high temperature using this blower. A taller furnace called a bloomery was generally used in ancient times to produce usable quantities of iron and consumed more charcoal, ore and labour. This device produces a blast of air with each stroke of the bow regardless of whether it is pushed or pulled. The bow makes it possible to operate the blower without using a complicated belt and wheel assembly used in traditional forge blowers. There is a brief pause at the end of each stroke where the fan stops to rotate in the other direction, but this is effectively no different to the intermittent blast of a double acting bellows of Europe or box bellows of Asia. The materials used (wood, bark, bark fibre and clay) are readily available on most continents. No leather, valves or precisely fitted piston gaskets are required as with other types of bellows. The cords for this device wear out often so a number of back up cords should be kept handy for quick replacement. In summary, this is an easy to make device that solves the problem of supplying forced combustion air required for high temperature furnaces and forges. Last month secretary of the interior Ken Salazar announced a 6 month emergency withdrawal of new hard-rock mining claims on the Arizona Strip. This is an extension to the two year segregation that was set to expire on July 21st. The BLM is currently responding to comments on the draft EIS (Environmental Impact Statement) and finalizing the Final EIS to turn over to the Secretary of the interior to make the final decision. Malia Bascom investigates the pros and cons of Uranium Mining on the Arizona Strip. What would a 20 year withdrawal from future uranium mining claims mean to the economies of Southern Utah Counties Like Kane, Garfield, San Juan, and Washington? What are the concerns of Mohave and Coconino County in Arizona where the mining would take place?

200 metres underground, in unhealthy shafts, they dig… they are 9 or 10 years old and they work in the mines of Boyaca, the biggest coal deposit in Colombia. It was in 1993 that a report documented the lives of Jairo, Oscar, Jaime... the mole children. 17 years later, Edouard Bergeon found them and showed them the images they had never seen. “I’m here underground like a mole. Imagine what I’m going to end up like. I started working when I was 10. I’m 32 and I’m still down the mine. I do it for my kids, to give them food and allow them to study.” His children, his wife, his mother discover for the first time the images of Oscar aged 10 pushing his coal barrow. Jaider also has a family, which he only sees at weekends. During the week he digs coal a six-hour drive from his home. Things haven’t changed much since his childhood. At 13, Jaider was already denouncing his working conditions, “I risk my life every day and I’m scared. I know people who never came out.” The image that stays in the memory is of Jairo’s face as he comes out of the mine, panting, with a sack of coal on his back. Today Jairo has been spared the silicosis that is killing his father. He left the mine to join the army. “If I weren’t in the army, I’d still be down the mine. And tomorrow I’d be in the same condition as my father.” Jaider wanted to show his colleagues the documentary filmed 17 years ago, in which he was one of the principal characters. “Seeing such a small child with a sack of coal on his back. Out of breath… It’s very hard. When I started I was 9… before Jaider. Now you can’t make children work. The slavery of that time is over.” And yet… when Oscar takes reporters 170 metres underground... deep in the bowels of the earth, five mole children of today, five little black faces like his, stare at Jaider, the mole child of 1993.

Is It Keto Friendly | Bang Energy Drink | Ketogenic Diet Blood Testing After many request to test Bang Energy Drink I finally picked up some from my local gym. I tried the 6 flavors the gym had to offer and I did not care for the Peach Mango but all the others tasted great. We started at Blood Glucose 87 mg/dL and Blood Ketones 1.2 mmol/L. I fasted for at least 10 hours before I took the test. I took 15 to 20 minutes to drink the full drink. Thirty minutes after I finished the drink my levels were 83 mg/dL and Blood Ketones 0.9 mmol/L. One hour after finishing the drink my levels were 83 mg/dL and Blood Ketones 1.2 mmol/L. This is a good thing. After an hour it basically had no negative effect. After 2 hours of finishing the drink my levels were 71 mg/dL and Blood Ketones 0.7 mmol/L. This is were things get strange. I'm not sure why after 2 hours it had a negative effect. My blood sugar was lower but my blood ketones were also 0.5 mmol/L lower. I will for sure test this drink again in a different setting soon since its the hottest energy drink on the block. My personal opinion is that one of these a day is probably fine if you are doing well on the Keto diet. If you are just starting the diet its probably something to avoid but if you must have it, have it! Keto is not complicated. Just eat and drink Keto Friendly things and you will end up in Ketosis. Let me know if you want something specific tested! Also on the next video which flavor should I test? Still in good shape inside. WARNING TO ANY VANDALS: THE RAGSDALE FAMILY (DESCENDANTS OF THE TOWN FOUNDER) STILL OWNS MUCH OF THIS TOWN (INCLUDING THE LAND UNDER THESE BUSINESSES) AND KEEPS A WATCHFUL EYE OUT. TAKE ONLY PICTURES. DO NOT VANDALIZE OR STEAL. Although are no services these days (no food, no gas, no lodging), many truckers still stop here. Desert Center is a census designated place in the Colorado Desert in Riverside County, California. It is in southern California, between the cities of Indio and Blythe at the junction of Interstate 10 and State Route 177 (Desert Center-Rice Road), about halfway between Phoenix and Los Angeles. The town was founded in 1921 by Stephen A. Ragsdale, also known as "Desert Steve", and his wife, Lydia. Ragsdale was an itinerant preacher and cotton farmer, originally from Arkansas. In 1915, he left his farm in the Palo Verde Valley along the Colorado River to attend to some business in Los Angeles. The road between Phoenix and Los Angeles was mostly sand, and Ragsdale's vehicle broke down near a place called Gruendyke's Well. This featured a hand-dug well and was inhabited by a prospector named Bill Gruendyke. Gruendyke rescued Ragsdale and gave him food, shelter, and water until his vehicle was repaired and he could resume his journey to Los Angeles. In the early 1930s, Dr. Sidney R. Garfield, who had just graduated from University of Southern California, went to visit a former classmate with a practice in Indio. The practice was thriving to capacity, while Garfield was nearly without business in Depression-era Los Angeles. Garfield's friend explained that he was the closest doctor (50 miles) to 5,000 men digging the Colorado River Aqueduct under direction of The Seven Companies, Inc. The project site's headquarters was just southeast of Desert Center. Garfield borrowed money from his father and constructed a 4-bed clinic near the construction site. The clinic was cooled by an ammonia air-conditioning system and at the time was the only air-conditioned building between Riverside and Phoenix. Garfield would treat the men, who would promise to pay on payday, but who would usually go to Blythe or Indio and drink their paychecks. Within a year, Garfield was broke and announced that he would pull up stakes. Hearing this, Henry J. Kaiser, whose division of the Six Companies, Inc. was building the stretch of the Colorado River Aqueduct through the Desert Center vicinity, visited Garfield at his clinic. His idea was to take a nickel a day out of each man's paycheck to prepay for that man's future medical treatments, should an injury occur while he was working. If the man wanted to be covered for the remainder of the day, after work hours, another nickel would be deducted. If the man had a wife and/or children he wanted to cover, this would cost another nickel. Within a short time, Garfield had a steady income stream and things improved for him immensely. When the aqueduct project was finished, Kaiser's next venture was the construction of the Grand Coulee Dam, and he took Garfield with him to manage the workers' health care, but this time there were 50,000 men, not just 5000. Garfield's Contractors General Hospital evolved into Kaiser Permanente, the largest managed health care system in the world, but its origins are in Desert Center. In 1992 a roadside historical marker at the site was unveiled by Garfield's sister next to the grocery honoring Desert Center as the birthplace of Kaiser Permanente. The site of Kaiser Steel Eagle Mountain Mine, one of the largest open-pit iron mining operations in the world, is located about 13 miles (21 km) north of Desert Center. The rich iron ore deposit was discovered by geologists employed by Henry J. Kaiser during construction of the Colorado River Aqueduct in the early 1930s. The Eagle Mountain Mine operated at capacity from World War II until Kaiser closed the mine and the town of Eagle Mountain in early 1982. Today, though showing its age, the town barely survives. The United States Post Office is the only remaining business, serving both locals and travelers crossing the vast expanse of desert between the Colorado River and Indio. The nearest gasoline and fast food are at Chiriaco Summit. Desert Center is home to agricultural farms, two mobile home parks frequented by "snowbirds", and the Lake Tamarisk community, which includes a golf course and that was founded by the Kaiser Steel Corporation for mine management.

Seth believes your most generous and insightful work needs this help - YOUR HELP - finding the people it’s meant to serve.... If there has been a guest that can speak directly to that little voice in your head - and help you get this marketing stuff RIGHT - it’s Seth. Pure sage. And purely actionable. In this episode: * The riskiest thing you can do it make average stuff for average people and pitch it to the masses. Instead, focus on the smallest viable audience (e.g. your patrons at table 4 of your restaurant) and bring magic to them, they will come back and they will bring their friends. * If you try to please everyone, you’ll stop pleasing the people you care about. Seth shares some strategies on how to focus on the people that care about your work and better serve them. * We all want to do work that matters for people who care. But we trip ourselves up thinking we need to become an evil marketer and spam the world. Fortunately, the best way to achieve your marketing goals is to help others become who they want to be. * and much more…! Enjoy! -- ► Useful? This is Weird Darkness – where you’ll find creepypastas, ghost stories, unsolved mysteries, crytptids like Bigfoot, and other stories of the strange and bizarre. Feel free to share your own creepy story at WeirdDarkness.com, I might use it in a future episode! Now.. sit back, turn down the lights, and come with me into the Weird Darkness! It all started with a bunch of footprints at a construction site. Or at least the modern-day fascination with “Bigfoot” did. Stories of hairy giants in the woods and wandering “wild men” had been a part of American lore for nearly two centuries by the time the nickname “Bigfoot” was coined in the late 1950s. But it was then, with the advent of television and the modern media, that chasing down giants in the woods became a national craze. It was the spring of 1957 and a road construction project was underway near Bluff Creek in northern California. The project was run by a contractor named Ray Wallace and his brother, Wilbur. They hired thirty men that summer to work on the project and by late in the season, Wilbur Wallace reported that something had been throwing around some metal oil drums at the work site. When winter arrived that year, cold weather brought the work to a halt, even though only ten miles of road had been completed. In early spring 1958, some odd tracks were discovered near the Mad River close to Korbel, California. Some of the locals believed they were bear tracks. As it happened, this was close to another work site that was managed by the Wallace brothers. Later on that spring, work started up again on the road near Bluff Creek. A number of new men were hired, including Jerry Crew, who drove more than two hours each weekend so he could be home with his family. Ten more miles of road were constructed, angling up across the face of a nearby mountain. On August 3, 1958, Wilbur Wallace stated that something threw a seven-hundred-pound spare tire to the bottom of a deep gully near the work site. This incident was reported later in the month, after the discovery of the footprints. On August 27, Jerry Crew arrived for work early in the morning and found giant, manlike footprints pressed into the dirt all around his bulldozer. He was at first upset by the discovery, thinking that someone was playing a practical joke on him, but then he decided to report what he found to Wilbur Wallace. At this point, the footprints had not been made public. That occurred on September 21, when Mrs. Jess Bemis, the wife of one of the Bluff Creek work crew, wrote a letter to Andrew Genzoli, the editor of a local newspaper. Genzoli published her husband's "Big Foot" story and caught the attention of others in the area. One of these was Betty Allen, a newspaper reporter who suggested in a late September column that plaster casts should be made of the footprints. She had already talked to local Native Americans and interviewed residents about hairy giants in the area. She convinced Genzoli to run other stories and letters about Bigfoot. This would be the beginning of a story that would capture the imagination of America. On October 1 and 2, Jerry Crew discovered more tracks, very similar to the first ones. In response to the new discovery, two workers quit and Wilbur Wallace allegedly introduced his brother Ray to the situation for the first time, bringing him out to show him the tracks. On the day after the last tracks were found, Jerry Crew made plaster casts of the footprints, with help from his friend Bob Titmus and reporter Betty Allen. He was irritated that people were making fun of him and wanted to offer the casts as evidence that he wasn’t making the whole thing up. On October 5, Andrew Genzoli published his now-famous story about "Bigfoot." It was picked up worldwide by the wire services, and soon the term was being used in general conversation.

Police say hundreds of supporters and opponents of a gold mining operation in northern Greece have clashed despite efforts to separate them. Police say more than 2,000 supporters and about 850 opponents of the mine were involved. No arrests were made. The mine operation in Halkidiki peninsula, by Vancouver, Canada-based Eldorado Gold Corp, has sharply divided residents, with some fearing environmental damage and a drop in tourism. Others welcomed the nearly 2,000 jobs it provides at a time of economic crisis. Both sides claim injuries among their ranks on Saturday. Police did not provide information. http://feeds.foxnews.com/~r/foxnews/world/~3/UdvkbEbIt38/ http://www.wochit.com

Will you and your fellow builders collaborate successfully, creating laws to guide player actions, finding a balance that takes from the ecosystem without damaging it? Or will the world be destroyed by short-sighted choices that pollute the environment in exchange for immediate resource gains? Or, do players act too slowly, and the world is consumed by a disaster that could have been avoided if you developed the right technology? In Eco, you must find a balance as a group if the world is to survive. A world-survival game Eco is a survival game in a global sense, where it is not just the individual or group who is threatened, but the world itself. The world of Eco will be home to a population of thousands of simulated plants and animals of dozens of species, each living out their lives on a server running 24 hours a day, growing, feeding and reproducing, with their existence highly dependent on other species. Enter humans into this equation, and things get complicated. It is the role of players to thrive in this environment by using resources from the world to eat, build, discover, learn and invent. However, every resource they take affects the environment it is taken from, and without careful planning and understanding of the ecosystem, lands can become deforested and polluted, habitats destroyed, and species left extinct. In the extreme, the food supply of the ecosystem can be destroyed, along with all human life on it, resulting in server-wide perma-death. Eco is a game where the player’s actions have meaningful consequences. Everything you do affects the ecosystem, and players can destroy their food supply and world (server-wide permadeath) Create a player-run government to make decisions as a group, proposing and voting on laws Use data gathered from the world to propose and vote on laws as a group. Debate with scientific argumentation. Create a player-run economy that allows you to sell not only good but services in the form of server-enforced contracts (simulating a player driven quest system). PvP takes the form of a player-run criminal justice system. Breaking the player-made laws can result in arrest and punishment. Your food level determines your skill-increase rate, making food very important and tying players directly to the ecosystem from which it comes. A game with goals higher than entertainment. We plan to build it for schools as an augmented classroom world students share. Hey there, we're Twisted & Wicked from HBG HoneyBunnyGames and we're here to entertain you!
