Just a heads up, if you've ever done any testing with turrets and prison cell gates, the cell gates suck. You want to use fences instead. It's too easy for auto/shotgun turrets to hit the cell gates and not the enemy. They will, however, shoot right through fences without a problem. Fences are not easy that easy to take out either, so they are the best alternative. I also suggest putting them on turrets outside your base, rather than fully exposed, because they can be rocketed or shot at from a distance and weakened. Just my $0.02. (It's unlikely someone would go to the trouble of rocketing exposed turrets on a shopfront, so my suggestion is more towards base design.)

oh I can imagine the difference easily, I'm not really a fan of cell gates in front of turrets because I do know the amount of shots they usually block I somehow actually forgot fences exist, ill still test it out to see if there are any cons to doing it that way, but I doubt it, I enjoy testing out new ideas anyway :) Thanks so much for the kinds words man, makes all the effort worth it at the end of the day!

Well, do what you think is best. I tested out a shop build on Bob the Builder server with a friend and we immediately saw the benefit of fences over cell gates. I would suggest you try this yourself -- bring in a friend and have them walk through an entranceway with turrets, one with cell gates and a separate with fences. But you decide what you think is best. I can only relate to my own personal observations and experiences. I wanted to thank you for taking the time to implement a design for a shop front, and also go to the trouble of recording, editing and uploading to YouTube. Thank you, sir!!

Mef xD When you place a vending machine and put items for sale it puts a green icon on the map for everyone by default. Many players use this as a raid beacon. Shops are the perfect use for peacekeeper mode

Aries TV oh yea, to get it like 5-6 walls and spread the loot out would bring it close to 100-150k easy. You can certainly add layers as you profit from the shop. With the right prices you'll be rolling in resources. This is more of a "get open fast" type of shop, you could be open on day 1 honestly

Shiftless Drifter what I was thinking was putting a second vending machine where the indoor turret was but then I'd need to relocate the refinery and stuff. Valid point though you could maybe do an external machine built sort of like an old external TC since turrets are out there

My biggest gripe with the base is the fact that it only has one vending machine, (through which you are only limited to selling 7 items). I think 2 vending machines minimum is best in order to offer customers a large enough selection of goods. If you could find a place for a second vending machine I would think that would be ideal. Meds only stack to 2, so that's one slot for 2 meds, then you would have to use another slot for another 2 meds, etc, and you would probably want to be able to sell more than just 2 or 4. Doors and code locks don't stack so they each take up one slot. Same with tools. In other words, it's easy to hit the 7 item limit cap very quickly, but still have a lot of things to sell. Just a thought.

I like a lot of your base builds, but i usually play on modded servers, and my tower was recently raided and i'm now looking for a new base to build on modded servers. Could you maybe put together a base that would be good for a modded server that has the no twig plugin? (possibly a solo base design)
