can you store Monero on a Ledger nano s?
FanGT (9 months ago)
Nah but there currently working on supporting it.
Zed Wolfram (10 months ago)
I'm investing in Monero. There are talks about an upcoming Monero fork with airdrop distribution, is this legit? MoneroV is claiming to be the finite version of Monero. Anybody familiar with this??
Missy Robinson (10 months ago)
Any thought about the MoneroV (the fork of Monero) wallet?
Zed Wolfram (10 months ago)
If you are serious in and studied investing, you'll hold Monero. See the charts? Because there's a hard-fork coming up, it's called MoneroV, and it will finally solve 'Scaling Problem' because of Monero's infinity. If you're familiar with blockchain's nature, you'll see why it is a problem.

What's the difference between 3 addresses? Address, payment ID, and Integrated Address
jon hamm (11 months ago)
Q: payment ID is an insufficient number of digits for what Shapeshift and Changelly are asking for, yet generating new numbers yields the same amount of digits which prevents my desired transactions(conversions)

Does this make my PC slower?
Thanks so much for this! Have been reading about air-gapped computer/usb to create a wallet. I don't really have that option. Is this fairly safe in comparison? I'm pretty sure my computer is clean. How does this compare to the github monermoo wallet? Thanks again. Awesome work.
One-Eye (11 months ago)
After three days I'm still waiting for my wallet to finish synchronising. At this rate it may be done Tuesday afternoon.

How do I get a private node for my mac as I do not want remote node
Kisang Kim (11 months ago)
When I used local node, the hard disk was always busy so hard to use the computer, but after changing to remote very good on my computer. Actually I do not know the difference between these nodes.
Mr Smith (11 months ago)
Thank you
Bitcoin for Beginners (11 months ago)
+Mr Smith I think just setting it as local host and the port correctly would be enough
Stefano Mandelli (11 months ago)
do you suggest (i mean for paper walllet) after restored with the Gui (to see transactions and the amount of the wallet) to erase gui monero from PC? I ask you that about security. Or there is no problem leave application gui monero inside pc that is always connected to internet?
Flip Coin (11 months ago)
What is the remote node for?? Why do we need to use the node from monero world?
Bitcoin for Beginners (11 months ago)
its just a quicker way to sync the blockchain

Oh I see. Funnel cakes are still good though.
Robert Rose (9 months ago)

Just don't sit there and watch it download take a nap or make some funnel cakes
Fem-dom Destiny (10 months ago)
Will those 27Gb increase in the future?
Aristotle Hren-Boulis (11 months ago)
Thats why you use the remote node which is the section at 3:12. You dont have to download the blockchain which is what your talking about. It connects to someone elses hosted blockchain. Its like the electrum wallet if you know what that is. Versus downloading the whole blockchain with some wallets. If you do want to download the whole thing like your talking about yes it is 27gb of data.

How do I backup my monero wallet? Is it necessary like with bitcoin? Anyone help.
Alain de Guébriant (11 months ago)
Bitcoin for Beginners I thought that having the seed (words) was enough to restore a wallet. Where is the private key in the wallets like copay or Jaxx?
Bitcoin for Beginners (1 year ago)
All you need is your seed phrase and your private keys!
Brian Nicholson (1 year ago)
hey i have the gui wallet and its dec 6 today and i started syncing it on nov 27 and it still is not done syncing. whats wrong?
Kisang Kim (11 months ago)
Many options to improve sync. Use remote node, or buy a good computer with SSD storage, or download the raw blockchain data to run sync locally. I used local but getting raw block file first still took 2 days.
Brian Nicholson (1 year ago)
Bitcoin for Beginners thanks man! I just did it and it fixed the issue! Now i notice you said it’s less private. What if I want to have maximum privacy?
Bitcoin for Beginners (1 year ago)
DId you try connecting to remote node like I did in the video?

Thanks, my computer would have needed like 1 week or more without this to synchronize. :D

Bitcoin for Beginners (1 year ago)
are you connecting to a remote node?
BlueIceAce (1 year ago)
Thanks for your video! I'm just wondering what type of wallet is this? And after you send yourself Monero from the exchange, is your Monero now safely stored on your hard disk instead of the exchange? Thanks!
WREKLS1 (1 year ago)
I'm a noob lol me 2!
BlueIceAce (1 year ago)
Thank you so much for the quick reply. Keep it up, your channel is great!
Bitcoin for Beginners (1 year ago)
Yes. The wallet is just an interface to use your keys to access/transfer your coins. You can replace that interface with another one and it will still work. So just write down or store your keys/seed words somewhere and you'll be good.
BlueIceAce (1 year ago)
Wow sick! Thanks for the reply. Sorry I'm a noob, asking stupid questions. So once you transfer your coins from the exchange to the desktop wallet, your coins are kept there. And the private key/seed phrase is use to 'recover' your coins in any case that your computer dies?
Bitcoin for Beginners (1 year ago)
This is the official Mac desktop wallet. And no it's not stored on your hard disk. Your wallet is just an interface to the blockchain. The wallet contains your private key which lets you control your coins. So technically all you need is the private key/seed phrase to access your coins. If your hard disk died you'd still be able to access your coins as long as you have your keys/seed words - you can just export it elsewhere!

Dang Baso (1 year ago)
and you could end up without ur coins if u leave em for few months^^
Bitcoin for Beginners (1 year ago)
Bc they have full control over your coins. They could just commandeer it technically if they wanted to.

You have NO idea how I've been struggling with the damned daemon. I can't believe it. I sent Monero to this wallet that I thought I lost. THANK YOU!
Dana hay (11 months ago)
I have the same issue, and I just change to remote note, its synchronizing now, I hope I see my XMR  did you figure out? cuz I sent it from bittrex and bittrex shows withdraw completed.
Carol Dehasse (1 year ago)
I plugged in your remote host. My local host would never stay connected. It's still going super slow but at least it's still connected. I can wait, I imagine it will take several days?
Bitcoin for Beginners (1 year ago)
Local host is much much slower
Bitcoin for Beginners (1 year ago)
depends, are you connecting to the remote node or using the local host?
Carol Dehasse (1 year ago)
Do you know long it takes to sync? I haven't seen my 3.5 XMR in a week or more...Seriously I was all over reddit and stackechange and saw nothing but super complicated possible solutions.

can you tell wht function of daemon and when we need to use it?
Bitcoin for Beginners (1 year ago)
my pleasure!
Andre Steve (1 year ago)
thank you very much bro
Bitcoin for Beginners (1 year ago)
Andre Steve daemon is the service running on your computer that processes the Monero blockchain. So you can either use local host to process it. Or connect to a remote node to outsource most of the processing per say.

another great video....Can i put TenX in this wallet? or would i need a different wallet?..thanks again.
Bitcoin for Beginners (1 year ago)
Thank you!
joseph ferguson (1 year ago)
thanks for the info, i really enjoy your channel
Bitcoin for Beginners (1 year ago)
+joseph ferguson you can't put Tenx in a Monero wallet. I believe Tenx is an ERC 20 token? If so, you can use any ethereum wallet that can hold erc20 tokens.
