Thank you so much

the glitch that raises your build budget only becomes dangerous if you have a lot of items that require motion, like lights, guns, traps, automatic doors and generators. static objects are safe to overbuild with.

Just a quick added tip, "Gama Guns" in my experience work the best for resetting the settlement size limit.
jasonloukx84 (10 months ago)
the best guns to use to reduce the settlement size limit bar are "Gama Guns" long or shor makes no difference.
Victory Lane (9 days ago)
Also laser muskets work really well. I have gamma guns and laser muskets in all my workshops to do the glitch with.

They won't patch the settlement size glitche or the rug glitch it would require a large update because these aren't glitches these are exploits of ingame systems (a glitch is a flaw of codeing which isnt intended where these are using a system already in place)

Can you use the wire falling down to the conduit in the bottom of the post to make a lower and upper railing?
Learoy G (10 months ago)
jasonloukx84 that would give you as many railings as you want. Thank you.
jasonloukx84 (10 months ago)
I haven't seen anyone reply to you, so I'm just going to jump in, As far as doing only a top rail and bottom rail, that I don't think is possible, but I do believe you can stack multiple conduits on top of one another untill you have them stack the entire heighth of the post or untill your desired look is met, also you might even be able to cap each post with a conduit as well. I hope this helps.

The last one is so cool! I'll definitely be using that one!

Uh oh I don't know how much I can do to my Graygarden without breaking the game. I've been scrapping loads and loads of guns there for steel and other parts so it must have been doing it there too. No wonder my build bar is so low. Thanks.

don't have do it with weapon u can throw a lot of junk on ground and scrap it works same, less fucking around,

Ok I found the vid so thank you but I'm on the Xbox one and it hasn't turned yellow at all yet but when it does I want to be prepared so how many times would you recommend I do this? I would like to finish the vault and be able to fully customize it.
Wasteland Dovahkiin (2 years ago)
I've been able to do it 4 times without issues in the outside world. Might be able to do it more than that inside the vault, since it's a smaller area.

Oh, now this is SWEET! Thanks for these tips -- the multi-axis rotation was new to me, as was the cable "railing". (I can't wait to try it, and see whether you can remove the connectors once they've dropped to the floor without losing the cable, too.)

Im always careful with the build size glitch. Im worried the gamell stutter bad like ive seen ln reddit, and will crash more, and cause all sorts of memory issues. Ive only dlne it for the Castle and Sanctuary, two of my five favorite settlements.
Wasteland Dovahkiin (2 years ago)
What do you play the game on? I'm on PS4, and I've used the build size glitch 5 times for my Abernathyville so far, and only just started getting small stutters, but no freezes or crashes yet.
Arbbal (2 years ago)
The weapon storage is a pretty good trick, but it's better to do this with your junk items when you get back to a settlement. Drop them all and scrap them. That way you reduce your settlement size and you won't encounter the occasional bug where you won't get full credit for components from them if they are scrapped as part of a build. If you drop and scrap you will always get full credit.

leave it to a girl to make something that looks pretty instead of being useful

99% of settlement building is aesthetics, rather than practicality. Once you put in the crafting stations and shops, which you only really need in one settlement (your base camp), you don't need to do anything else. It's trivially simple to have a few feeder settlements provide all the food you need for your entire empire, leaving you to create entire settlements for the purpose of your own aesthetics. In fact, the developers intended this, because pretty much every single item in the entire construction menu is all about aesthetics. So, you're literally being a sexist dick for the sake of being a sexist dick, rather than having a point. Congratulations at being an incredibly pathetic loser, because that was your sole achievement here.

You talking about the power cable fence? I actually copied that idea from another Youtuber who is a guy.

For those playing on a PC, there's a nice little mod called Higher Settlement Budget. Unless you're REALLY into the 'no mods' thing and prefer to laboriously drop and pick up items, this mod works great. You just open the console, click on the workshop at the settlement and type 'bat settlement' (without the ' marks). then come out of the console, open the workshop and your bar will be at zero (assuming you didn't make any mistake typing of course). To my mind it makes little difference whether you take advantage of a glitch or whether you use a mod to achieve the same thing. :)
Wasteland Dovahkiin (2 years ago)
Yes, it sure does. I use it all the time.

i once spent ages placing stuff on counters and such and got attacked by raiders ............. they threw a grenade and everything went everywhere ............ i went back and placed them where they were because it looked awesome :D
Areanyusernamesleft (2 years ago)
Raiders ruin everything...
ravager0292 (2 years ago)
i dropped lots of guns after clearing out raiders from a bunker then scrapped them got lots of pieces for building and gave me more room to build ....... best glitch ever :D i didnt know you could rotate items you picked up i thought it was only in build mode you could do that ................... well you learn something everyday
Madmommy 101 (2 years ago)
I love the cable railings idea! Thanks for sharing.
grackleone (2 years ago)
Like that wire thing good job
benedictify (2 years ago)
with the weapon storage glitch, it almost seems like each component of a gun counts as one "thing" that you're taking out of your settlement; melee weapons probably don't work as well because they just have one component slot (usually)
HAWKEN MARKSMAN (2 years ago)
this was pretty helpful

Hartiger (2 years ago)
4 or 5 times!?!...wow. :) I was going to say I've never done this trick ever but I scrap EVERYTHING,all my junk on the ground before storing it.
Wasteland Dovahkiin (2 years ago)
+Hartiger I usually do this too, and it works the same way, just not as quickly. So my settlements don't ever reach their build limits. In fact, in order to make this video I had to deliberately NOT scrap items in that settlement for a long time so the build limit could be reached.
Cory Harris (2 years ago)
I've been wondering for ages on how to rotate items on a different axis for so long. thank you
Wasteland Dovahkiin (2 years ago)
+Cory Harris You're very welcome! I'm glad the video was helpful to you :)
