THE BEST MICE. PERIOD. - Logitech MX Master 2S (2017) & MX Anywhere 2S - VHS Special!

88 ratings | 3346 views
ERRATA: I said "70 hours" for the battery life, but the correct metric is "70 DAYS". Apologies. AntLion ModMic: http://geni.us/modmicaff Logitech have updated some of their best mice with the new MX Master 2S and MX Anywhere 2S productivity mice. The MX Master 2S gets longer battery life and higher DPI (sensitivity), which is great. This also introduces "Flow" - Logitech's answer to Synergy to control two PCs with one mouse and transfer files or clipboard text. ERRATA: The battery life is 70 DAYS not 70 hours. Apologies. I've corrected subtitles and added a note to the description. AntLion ModMic: http://geni.us/modmicaff What did you think about the VHS Special?

Yeah no shit lol

How do you change DPI?
Pedro Sanchez (10 months ago)
Sweet, thank you amigo..
EposVox (10 months ago)
In the Logitech Options software they have a sensitivity slider that is for DPI, just doesn't make that clear.

Hey, man, I looked at your How To Start A Gaming Channel videos and they are great! I just got about 10 subs yesterday thanks to you!
thanks! DO you know any YouTubers who can do a channel evaluation btw? I need someone to tell me how I can improve specifically to me

What are you using to hold your EV mic? Any videos showing that off or talking about it?
EposVox (1 year ago)
Heil PL-2T Boom Arm: http://geni.us/vY4NM with the ElectroVoice 309A shock mount: http://geni.us/kWHQNX1 Never really made much content around it; boom arms are almost all the same concept and pretty obvious and boring. But at some point am planning to do a quick one on why I needed a more expensive one after years of using the $15-20 ones on Amazon.

I love the VHS Look on this video! It's awesome! But it may be overused... Try using it a little less when scenes show detail info. It tends to hurt my head when I want to read the details or get a clearer look at the product. Just my two cents.
EposVox (1 year ago)
Nah, genuine all the way. Working on some more graphical elements so I can still have retro vibes to normal vids, but will reserve the actual VHS stuff for retro topics
HuzzahGamers (1 year ago)
EposVox no kidding, a real VHS tape? did you actually dub it over and back or what? I'm curious how you did that now. I thought it was a video effect in Adobe
EposVox (1 year ago)
In the future it will primarily be reserved for more retro tech coverage instead of new products, I just needed fodder to experiment with it and a product I've basically already covered seemed like a good choice. But there's no "do it less" or "don't overdo it" - it's not an effect, it's a real VHS tape. Can't turn it down, haha. But will get more creative about its use as time goes, just experimenting.
Steve Sheehan (1 year ago)
I dig the VHS look. Most have no idea what a VHS tape is anymore so might be lost on them. If I ever start a ch. this is exactly what I wanted to do. Good job!

I use a Logitech M570 trackball for editing and general web browsing XD
EposVox (1 year ago)
I still can't see myself using a trackball haha

Is the VHS a plugin filter?
EposVox (1 year ago)
Haha there you go :)
HuzzahGamers (1 year ago)
EposVox will that answered my questions lol.
EposVox (1 year ago)
Edit and master video with VHS quirks in mind -> render video file of main original edit cut -> copy to flash drive and copy to PS3 hard drive -> play back on PS3 via Composite to VCR recording to VHS tape -> Rewind, play back VHS tape through capture card -> final touches of video -> whammo Will reserve this kind of thing mainly for retro tech coverage or special stuff in the future, but needed an opportunity to experiment and a product I basically already covered before was the perfect opportunity!
EposVox (1 year ago)
Nope, a real VHS cassette put in a VCR
Tek Soup (1 year ago)
Did your 4K camera Break? this looks really bad on a 4K monitor.
EposVox (1 year ago)
I love them. That and the G502 gaming mouse. Most comfortable mice I've used.
Tek Soup (1 year ago)
oh ok, yeh i noticed the VHS Look. Well good Job as Usall, i was thinking of buying that mouse recently.
EposVox (1 year ago)
This was shot on my 4K monitor. It's... it's on a VHS. Hence the title and the way I started, haha
John M (1 year ago)
I had my ups and downs with Logitech over the years. I would recommend using a specific mouse. I have not seen a mouse specifically for YouTubers; looks like Logitech found a niche market. I also loved the video and found it very informative. Shared and liked. Keep up the great work EposVox.

Thanks dude :)

love your videos

Dustin Williams (1 year ago)
If you had done a VHS special for a video about retro gear, like your CRT TV it would be cool, but for current tech it just looks terrible.
EposVox (1 year ago)
Yeah, just experimenting since I've basically already reviewed this before. It will primarily only really be used for those scenarios. I have a 2004 webcam I'll be unboxing/reviewing and do some similar stuff with
commodore256 (1 year ago)
Nice, if I evert tried to do the VHS effect, I would use real tapes, but I would cheat a bit. I would either master to S-VHS or Betamax or BetacamSP (of which the latter supports Component input) and maybe blend the frames with HD footage. I would want it to look nostalgic while looking as good as possible in analogue Tape.
EposVox (1 year ago)
Yeah normal VHS recordings, laserdisc, etc. are recorded from composite source. I've heard plenty of reports that playing non-S-VHS in a S-VHS outputting S-Video adds more artifacting. But composite video does not scale well. Obviously that's all that's happening in this player, but even recording an uncompressed 8-bit signal from a VHS composite output and scaling up looks absolutely horrid compared to this player's HDMI out, and I hear VCRs do not play well with the scalers typically used for retro gaming and such.
commodore256 (1 year ago)
Well, there's S-VHS (or Super VHS) and that's S-Video and I wouldn't bother with one that has HDMI-Out, I would just get another scalier. But even Laserdisc was composite and if it had a S-Video port on the player, it would just be a placebo because the video track's recorded Video is just a composite signal.
EposVox (1 year ago)
Yeah I'd love the higher end VHS stuff to do this with. The problem would still be the output. Virtually nothing outputs VHS higher than composite. Spent a long time hunting a VCR that does internal scaling via HDMI. So for the other tape kinds there might not be any affordable options.
Patrick Goppold (1 year ago)
Did you record that with a VHS Camcorder? 😆
Patrick Goppold (1 year ago)
EposVox That's quite an effort but the 90's are totally worth it! 😄
EposVox (1 year ago)
Recorded on my G7, but mastered/trancoded through a VHS tape yes!
