I have one. I got it right about the time this video came out. Its basically at the end of its lifespan. it did in fact hold a charge for a few months at a time. but now its down to days instead of months.

I wish Logitech would redesign the MX2 because it is the most uncomfortable mouse i have ever owned. Logitech also needs to come out with a line of handheld keypads for use with streaming Android devices. Consumers want handhelds and it's been about 5 years since streaming devices started appearing but Logitech has yet to come out with a solution for this segment.

Great video, great product. Except for the none replaceable battery. :(
3ogdy (1 year ago)
Is designpartners the company in charge of the MX Master design? Are they the ones responsible for the idiotic placement of those side buttons. Have you really used the mouse? It's painful to click those side buttons. Ergono...what? Have you used this mouse before sending it to stores? I doubt, because otherwise you would have placed those buttons much closer to the front, after noticing how fingers and hands hurt when trying to use those buttons.
Seth Lindsay (1 year ago)
I've seen in so many review that the side buttons are ridiculously placed, however, I just bought an MX Master and I gotta say, I don't mind the placement. I have giant hands, and yeah the forward button is a tad too small, but in just a week, I'm totally used to it.
Paul (1 year ago)
I'm still using my G9X Has anyone else upgrade for the G9X to the MX master
Paul Worster (1 year ago)
This a Note for Loditech and the reason why i didn't buy this mouse...simple answer is ITS TO BIG! The MX Master is too big. the MX Anywhere 2 is too Small. How about making a MX Middle Master that is just right. Serious love this mouse Shape but your missing a size and i beg you guys to make a Middle size mouse for normal humans.
bart simpson (5 months ago)
Paul, If the MX line is too big, try the M705. Been using one since 2012 and it's still going strong. Need to clean the accumulation of crud inside it sometimes, I sue a wire tie and cut about 5 to 8 mm of the plastic at one end to use the wire for reaching into the mouse to get the dust and hair out gently. Keep the plastic to put back on the wire to protect it. Two AA alkaline batteries last longer than a year and I never turn the mouse off; the batteries last longer that way. The side buttons are a little too far back for my hand but not enough to hurt. I just slide my hand back a bit to get to the buttons. I use the scroll wheel without the brake most of the time. It has started to double click recently, but I've been playing a lot of Zuma Deluxe since I've had it, where double-clicking is essential to get some good shots into the gaps, so I think this mouse would last even longer if one doesn't play fast games with it. It doesn't have darkfield tech, but a good clean surface will do, probably even glass as long as there is a texture under the glass for the laser to pick up on, but I've never tried that. I'm presently using a lightly textured placemat and it's working great. I hope you will get this answer even if it has been a year since you wrote your comment. Hope this helps.

Another Dog shit right hand only mouse from a Dog shit company
Jinppa (1 year ago)
Maybe left-handed people should just adapt. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, what I'm trying to say, it's really important for left-handed people to be able to use different tools like scissors safely even they're designed for right-handed people (like they 99% of the time are). My wife is a perfect example, she is left-handed but plays right-handed guitar and uses the same computer peripherals I do (I'm a boring right-hander). Basically she can do everything (yup, everything you pervs) as well with right or left hand, only writing is completely left-handed.
Drink Me (1 year ago)
There are approximately 7 billion people in the world today. Companies should keep an open mine for the 10% of the people that are left-handed. That's about 700,000,000 people.

Mouse feels like it is made from cheap plastic and is not comfortable at all.
3ogdy (1 year ago)
Yes, the side buttons are unusable. They should've been put way closer to the front. It hurts really bad whenever you need to click them. Pain is located between index finger and thumb. Huge design mistake by Logitech.

Great video! Got mine yesterday but compared to the Performance MX that I had, is's a big disappointment! No left and right tilt!? The back and forward thumb buttons are almost useless due to the location and shape design. The MX was also more ergonomic! I was able to copy/pate undo/redo all fast and easy with Steinberg Cubase

Pieter Rossouw (3 years ago)
mine just arrived today, absolutely love it. Thumb buttons are a bit too far back but not unusable. Other than that, best Mouse I've used.
3ogdy (1 year ago)
Pieter is right. You, burns, have obviously never used the MX Master. Those thumb buttons are clearly a design mistake by Logitech, a company that was supposed to pay attention to ergonomics. I said "it hurts" whenever I try to use those buttons and I'm not the only one. Those functions from the side should have clearly been moved way forward. Buttons aren't unusable, but painful to use if you were to grab the mouse properly. The pain is located between the index finger and the thumb, and behind the thumb. Back and forward buttons should've been placed where the side scroll wheel is located, while the wheel itself should have been right where the bump ahead of it is located. There is no way in hell you could accidentally click them. They're not touch buttons, they're click buttons. It is impossible to click one by mistake. Have you tried clicking the button behind the vertical scroll wheel? It takes muscle to do that. Oh, and it also wakes the neighbors up when clicked. Accidental clicking? Never gonna happen.
burns0100 (2 years ago)
+Pieter Rossouw TBH they are out of the way like they need to be, not going to hit one by mistake as you need to move your thumb into possible to use them first which is nice. Hate that problem i had with some Razor mice.

CCRed95 (3 years ago)
this is overall a great mouse. I love the thumbrest button gestures for window control, very innovative. Excellent scrollwheel. My only issue with the mouse is the forward/backward thumb buttons are difficult to use. The top/forward button especially is far too small to comfortably press. Also, the logitech options software does not allow you to map those buttons to 'tab change forward/backward', but you can map the thumb scroll wheel to tab change (although its not a good use for a non-clicking scroll wheel with no haptic feedback).

+Chip Chipperson Can you feel the scroll wheel rattle inside the mouse when you move it fast?
Fletcher Luders (3 years ago)
This is possibly the best mouse I have ever used. The side scroll thumb wheel feels absolutely fantastic and the thumb rest alt+tab button and bluetooth connectivity are extremely convenient. I love the overall styling of the mouse and the ergonomics complement it nicely. But coming from an engineering type background, one of the most impressive features is the re-introduction of the adaptive speed scroll when. Kudos to you logitech for the improvement in this area as it works amazingly on the MX Master. Look forward to using your product for many years to come and highly recommend it.
Trip Tamine (3 years ago)
I've had the MX Performance mouse from Logitech for about 18 months now, recently the past couple weeks its started to lag and lockup every few seconds, its so so annoying. Not sure if its the laser thats messed up or its reached the age limit Logitech put on their devices! Guess I'll have to buy a new one now might as well get this one

what do i have to major in, in college to design things like this
mkrs01g (2 years ago)
+OakParkVG For the concept, styling, and physical part, Industrial design in an art and design school or program. You'd want mechanical and electrical engineers for other aspects of bringing it to full fruition.

+OakParkVG Sadly you have to have a major in design to design things like mice because the are made at the hundredths of millimeters though

The would be well worth $60 if they put the Device Switch button in a more accessible spot.. so you don't have to flip the device over to change between devices... would make this way better than having to use something like Synergy.

Since there's no logical support page for Logitech where I can post this in a forum that other people can read, I'll just post it here on Youtube.   Why can't I created different buttons mappings for the MX master mouse like I can with the previous Performance MX version?    The new logitech options screen has nice chrome/design, but is not nearly as powerful as the logitech control center was.
W.D. Cherrington (3 years ago)
When is Logitech going to stop ignoring LEFT HANDED users? This is a mouse I would certainly buy if it were not essentially useless for left-handed users.  If necessary charges 10% more for being a smaller market, but completely ignoring us has gone on for too long.

Strange. My M705 says "Made in China." Maybe the MX series is made in Lausanne, though. Yes, all their mice are designed in their headquarters in Lausanne, but for the millions of mice they sell annually, they need to turn to a manufacturing facility capable of bulk manufacturing. China to the rescue.
skystealth22 (2 years ago)

MX Revolution 2.0 finally! :D
Outbreak42 (3 years ago)
+commodore256 Performance Mouse MX could hold a candle to the MX Revolution. I'm looking at mine, sitting there, asking why I have not used it in years and instead went on to the G602 gaming mouse. The reason is because the build quality and comfort of the Performance can't compare to the Revolution. I really hope the Master can fill that gap.
commodore256 (3 years ago)
3.0, you're forgetting about the performance mouse mx
lakecrab (3 years ago)
The thumb wheel quit working on my Logitech mouse after about a year of service. So, I went and bought an I-Home cheapo for $10 bucks at "Big Lots" ...We'll see how long the I-home lasts. The ergonomics on the I-Home are not nearly as good as the Logi...but it works.

Logitech has G-series for gaming products so I assume other "non-G" mice are for daily/office works.
Michael Palo Pedersen (3 years ago)
+Duy Khanh Tran That could be it, this mouse doesn't really strike me as a gaming mouse.
Duy Khanh Tran (3 years ago)
maybe because this is the first time an "office" mouse has this feature
Michael Palo Pedersen (3 years ago)
+Duy Khanh Tran Yeah, but that's not really unique? I've got a thumbwheel on my MMO7(not that i really use it for anything), so what's so special about their thumbwheel?
